Unlike a lot of the other people, I am still not impressed with what JR has done. Honestly I think our team last year was much better than it is now. Disagree all you want with me, that is my opinion.
I also don't think Horny is an upgrade over Neal, granted Neal was a D-Bag (sometimes you need that). Up until this point yea Horny has 10 more points but I think if Neal was still on our team he'd probably be around 60 points. - Francois Leroux
I'd take Hornqvist over Neal any day especially come playoff time. Horqvist works his butt off every shift. I'm sure if Neal was with the Pens he would have more pts than what Hornqvist has produced but he didn't provide anything else other than a few dumb penalties. And Downie has more than made up for that |

I too am not impressed by JR. Not a fan. I don't think the team is worse but I don't think they are significantly improved. I know the cap is a problem but paying Sutter and Spaling a fortune is not good cap management. |

Shero should have stuck to drafting D and took Justin Faulk |

Can the Penguins go after Bailey from PSU? Or is this a cap issue where its not even possible?
Seems like the only way to get some younger talent in the organization would be the undrafted FA's out of college.
McKenzie just retweeted that it looked like Bailey would sign today. Buf and Tor as frontrunners. |

So blame 87 even though he's #2 in pts in the league or 58 who is having a career year and most likely Norris nom?
I do blame the bottom 6, most aren't even NHL players. How about Kunitz, 1 goal in 22 games? 87, 58, 71, and 29 are doing their part, same with 72. Nobody else is. You can't have 1/2 your roster as passengers. - sammy87
YES .... I DO!!! This team has 1 or less goals in 10 of the last 15 games.... In those 10 games how many points have Crosby and Letang produced??? Scapegoating Adams and Bennett is lazy and inaccurate... Blaming 4th line players!!!! who have different rolls to fill is pathetic.... Sorry folks I don't buy it... I don't place the blame squarely on their shoulders however...
1) Injuries to key players since early December
2) Highly questionable line ups and a total inability to get a PP featuring CROSBY MALKIN LETANG HORNY AND PERRON is inexcusable and should fall directly on the coaching staff
3) The idea that we keep getting blogs with Fenwick numbers indicating that this team is 2nd in the league!!!! Sorry Ryan! 30 years of watching hockey tells me this is a bad team the last 15 games and going no where in the playoffs if something radical does not change
Crosby has not stepped up like Teows in Chicago in the wake of the Kane injury or like Ovie in Washington and that's what we expect from the best player in the world... NOT BRANDON SUTTER and CRAIG ADAMS |

Why do the Pens never go after College Forward FA? Bailey at Penn State University could have been a huge impact on this team... |

if we fizzle out in 1st round I'm going to be extremely disappointed that we didn't move martin and erhoff( i know he was injured but it was short term) I am a die hard pens fan and a realistic one at that. we are to soft to win against a lot of east teams. They know how to get to Crosby and Malkin and without someone there to back teams off we are just a regular season team. Trading Depres for Lovejoy or any defensemen was flat out stupid. I do like Cole to this point and hope to keep him..so far. now we stand to lose both guys come fa time and get nothing but cap relief. I am not a fan of the deer in headlights coach at all. He looks puzzled all the time and I am pretty sure he is.... |

Toews has 10 pts in the 9 games Kane has missed but 7 of those pts came in 2 games. So he has 3pts in the other 7 games. .....the whole team in Chicago has stepped up in Kanes absence not just Toews |

Just 10 points in 9 games? How many does Crosby have minus the Oilers game???Teams follow the example of their leaders ... The Pens team leaders have not stepped up... period end of story to this point!!!
Pens have the worst PP in the league since February 1... How many minutes gentle men have BB, Adams, Max P and Winnik played combined since that date on the PP?
How many have Crosby and Letang played? |

Kunitz, 1 goal in 22 games, 87 4 pts in 6 games. Yeah lets blame the only person producing. Face it, the Pens aren't that good of a team. Top to bottom no where close to the Hawks. |

This team can add anyone it wants from WBS and they still won't go far in the playoffs. The Despres trade looks terrible now and I've been saying for a long time that prospects should be developed the entirely to long regular season. |

You forgot that fact that Neal has 63gp 35 points while Hornqvist has 56gp 45 points and plays his heart out every shift, unlike Neal. Not to mention we also got Spaling. Saying Neal is better is just absurd. |

It seems like everyone in here already slit their wrists and burned the Crosby jerseys and bought Tavares ones instead. |

For as vanilla as Spaling has been, if they didn't have him, who on the roster would fill that 3rd line void? The sad truth is he is better than any other option they had. |

Hes not leading in PTS and can't randomly skate around the offensive zone and have turn overs like Malkin so he sucks. |

Spaling has been fine for his role, overpaid maybe by .75 but that's about it.
Just imagine, Neal and BB for Hornqvist and Forsberg.

Yep hes so damn vanilla but at least hes not a liability. Someone is bound to mention a callup as another option but its not that simple up against the cap. |
