Can't happen before he agrees to the termination.

Why would you feel that the Flyers' tomorrow is better than Buffalo's, if one of those players in this draft truly is a franchise center or generational player?

Or Edmonton's, if you have Noah Hanifan with Darnell Nurse and Oskar Klefbom?

Or Columbus, which is already beating you despite losing hundreds of man-games to injury?

The only three teams whose short and near-term futures are all-but guaranteed to be worse than the Flyers are Toronto, Phoenix and New Jersey.

Every other franchise out there has just as much chance of making rapid, significant improvement -- just as much chance as the Flyers have

- AllInForFlyers

Edmonton have been terrible for almost a decade, but they're in a better spot than us if they get Hanifin and we get (for example) Provorov? I really think you're having an unwarranted pity party here.

This good old boys network has to stop. Not every position within the Organization has to be filled by an ex-Flyers player.

Right, but he's still holding the cards because from a business perspective it's cheaper for them to buy him out than let him sit. Then he can try to ply his talents for another team and make up the money he's losing by being bought out.

A buyout is certainly a better situation for Lecavalier, if it happens.

I'm betting that he's a proud individual also. One who doesn't want his pretty good career tarnished by playing out the string in the press box.

If there's a chance that he can ride off on his own terms by taking on a lesser salary than he's collecting now, I'm also betting he'd go for it.

That said, I bet on Villanova to make it to the final four.

Edmonton Oilers under Todd Nelson, with Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth as their goaltenders and Taylor Hall injured except for the last game: 9-9-2

Philadelphia Flyers in their last 20 games, with Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek in the Top 12 in scoring and Steve Mason in their primes, with Mason having an elite season: 6-7-7

I don't throw pity parties, Chief. The math tells you that in the last 20 games, the Edmonton Oilers have one more point than the home team -- with worse goaltending and an interim coach

Tell me again why the Flyers future is better than theirs, again?

I'm all ears

I'd throw Edmonton in there too. Edmonton has no clue how to manage their players. I might put san jose in there too depending on what they do this summer . They're in a tailspin compared to where they were last year. They could be looking at some major changes.

Do you honestly think a coach is going to look at the last 20 games, when deciding where to go?

Why does the Flyers future have to look better then Edmonton's does, for the Flyers to be able to attract top coaching talents, if they have an opening?

For your name to be "allinforflyers" your pretty (frank)ing negative dude. You're making it seem like the flyers are (frank)ed for the next two decades which is far from the truth.. They've had ONE single bad season... Like I mentioned earlier- for all we know we win the metro next year. Everyone needs to take a deep breath, take a step back and calm the hell down.

Technically they've had 3 bad seasons in a row... missed PO's in 2012-13, and they were mostly terrible but made the PO's by the skin of their teeth last season.

Haven't looked like the 'Flyers' since... Jagr was here?

I don't agree with what he's saying, but he's not really negative. In fact he's one of the few posters that aren't all doom and gloom on the Flyers.

The scenario that has been proposed is that the Flyers job opening is so much better than other job openings around the league

I'm saying, and proving, that the Flyers job is no different than any other job that is out there except Toronto's, Phoenix and New Jersey's

But somehow, me saying that one of the worst teams in the league over the last decade is playing better than you for the last quarter of a season, in a more difficult conference, doesn't prove that Edmonton's job is no worse than Philadelphia's?

I don't see it that way. They've had a few rough seasons, they battled their asses off last year to get in the playoffs and lost the eastern conference champs, This was clearly a really bad season. I think hextall makes some moves this offseason and we see a better team next year.

Does your screen name mean you are chronically Benji, or Benji smokes the chronic? Are you kidding me with that screen-name poop?

Other teams make trades, draft players, have prospects. It's ludicrous to sit there and act like the Flyers are the only team who is going to get better in the next 3-5 years...are you kidding me?

You don't have to be "(frank)ed." But you do have to beat out eight other teams in your conference, and considering that every other team is doing exactly what you're doing -- and in some cases, have more assets than you do -- it's not negative to acknowledge that, golly gee, the currently .500 Flyers aren't automatically going to be contenders just because...Flyers.

I think the Flyers organization is a very attractive place for any coach. I don't think either team's record over the last 20 games is going to be very much of a factor for a coach deciding on where to go.
