I know Richards was on a team that won two Cups....but
Richards for Simmonds, B. Schenn & (2nd rnd pick = Nicklas Grossmann) - LeftCoaster
So you're saying LA won that trade. |

Yeah tried to argue that with a Kings fan the other day... I love Simmonds' game. Everything Lucic should be. |

I'm not gonna give him much more credit than the contract he signed already does....but to say he's finished skill wise in the NHL is malarkey. He is wayyyy better than probably 30 or 40 regular NHL centers in the league....that are making <$3M. |

Is that a statement or a question? Because I don't see a question mark at the end of your sentence. |

Very much so.
B.Schenn is a bust, Simmonds is black, and Grossmann can't skate himself out of a paper bag. - Streit2ThePoint
Yeah but Grossman had to skate himself in to that paper bag. So that's pretty impressive. |

Sure.....theres so many idiotic contracts out there....Richards was/is in the AHL because he cant live up to the cap hit....unless he reinvents his game or fitness level or whatever it is that is slowing him down there is no way he doesnt get bought out before that deal expires....unless we have expansion again and he goes in the draft. |

No but they won a couple cups, and last time I checked there was no trophy for winning the most trades.....maybe they can dust off that but ugly World Cup trophy, call in the Glen Sather Hindsight trophy and hand it out every 5 years to the GM that made the best trade in the last half decade and the fans can be proud and call themselves winners? |

For the record, I am happy with the outcome of the Richards/Carter trades, IMHO. |

B Schenn hasn't played up to expectations, but its little early in his career to call him a bust. He's only 23. |

266 NHL games and I think it's fair to start making judgments on a player.
He is an average, middle-6 NHL player. There isn't a thing in the world wrong with that. But he certainly did not pan out to be the high-level player that many expected him to be. |
