Yesterday I decided to watch a few Youtube videos of Connor McDavid some from the Eerie Otters and some from Team Canada. Holy cow, the skating, the acceleration, the stopping, the shooting, the passing, always in control of the puck no matter where he is on the ice.

If he is wearing a Buffalo jersey at the day of the draft it will be an absolute miracle.

IMO this is going exactly as GMTM planned. On one hand you've got a proud coach who motivates the team to play as hard as they can which deflects any 'tank' criticism off the players. On the other hand he successfully moved enough pieces to quite possibly ensure that the team finishes last, at the same time creating an obvious perception of a gulf between Nolan and himself, which has prepared the Buff fanbase to accept the inevitable departure of Nolan.

All he has to do is sit back, cycle out a couple AHLers on occasion and pray that the Sabres talent is just bad enough to beat out the other tank-ees.
