"I can’t control what other people think and what other people do," Nolan said Wednesday afternoon after the team practice at First Niagara Center. "I know what I feel. I’m not speaking for anybody else. I’m speaking for myself. Who wants to finish last? I never went into anything my entire life wanting to finish last. You go into it with the right intentions and it’s the integrity of the game. That’s the line for me. You just go out and do what you have to do and feel the way you feel and some people want to finish last, well then good for them."
I will agree with that quote till the day I die.
He is 100% right!
Good for Teddy, I respect him that much more.
"You play to win the game".
Let the chips fall where they may.
I applaud you once again Ted Nolan. - BuffaloHardHat
This was utterly out of character for HH, caught me totally of guard! Who knew? |

for what's best for the franchise, he is 100% wrong. And there is no argument against that.

Regardless. Ted is saying all the right things. His career is on the line and every coach is hired to help the team win. Anything he would say regarding losing for the 1st overall would get him blackballed again. |

Beat me to it.
I would be hardpressed to find a coach or player that is accepting of losing. They aren't guaranteed to be here unless they have a full no movement clause. Everyone is expendable, and you have to have people that want to be here and to be better. |

As great as that would be, I am more focused on our draft position than our head coach. |

I still can't see why he'd leave Detroit. He'll get paid, the youth is starting to come through and he gets along with his boss. I think one of those three would have to go horribly wrong for him to want out. |

Yeah, I'm not sure what anybody expected him to say.
I just take comfort in the fact that he's incapable of doing anything about it. |

He seems to be doing ok for what he has and his philosophy of how to coach. He does get them competing. Could be more the pride of the players wanting to do with what they know. Would be nice if Ted was a coach that could teach more than just motivate. |

Exactly he is saying what he needs to. Even he knows it's better to finish last, than 29th. |

Having Bogozian and Kaleta back will not be an offensive threat.

This has been the most boring ever. Myers and Stafford must enjoy playing the opposite game.
