Team around him was atrocious though. Kinda shows difference getting out of Edmonton has made for him though.

It is an amazing turn around.

I was impressed by Ottawa their kids are certainly playing well.

I was not trolling or click baiting with my title just think it is time to get some credit for MN Wild. This is no fluke.

And I agree. They are the real deal. I hope Dubynk keeps playing this well and they are able to resign him. Definitely will be interesting to see what kind of deal he gets.

Dubnyk signing will be interesting. On the one hand he has a tone leverage as UFA and how he has performed BUT does he really want to risk leaving MN where he has found this impressive success. Game of Chicken has begun!

While the team was, he was still allowing a lot of soft goals.

Good to see him doing better though.

Exactly! I think it would be wise for him to stay with Wild even though he may get higher offers elsewhere. I mean anything's better than where he was a year ago.

NHL.com did an interesting article on him a couple weeks ago. It was about him coming to Arizona and Sean Burke helping get his confidence back and playing a little differently.

Wild should definitely sign him to a long term high dollar extension. They should even go the extra year allowed under the CBA for a UFA to resign with his existing club. Lock him in for 8 years. Let me know how you feel about the new deal when the all-star break comes around next year.

I didn't say for the Wild to pull a Bryzgalov-esque signing. I think a 3 year deal will be sufficient.

How about we all stop talking ish before the playoffs even begin. The Wild are hot, the Sens are hot. That is the truth. Now let's see who makes it deeper in the playoffs before we start running our mouths. AYE?

No doubt dubnyk has been phenomenal, but price is having one of the greatest season's for a goaltender ever. He leads in all 4 major categories and is putting up hasek type numbers when he was in his prime in buffalo. The habs would be a playoff bubble team without him at best. If he doesn't win the vezina and hart it will be a travesty in my opinion. (assuming he doesn't implode in the final 10 games)

Bergenheim will be an odd man out once the likes of Brodziak, Zucker and Cooke come back.

He's done very little in the way of establishing himself a permanent place in this line up. He was a depth move and will continue to be nothing more than a depth player.

I think Brodziak is likey the most unsung of the bottom six even in spite of his seemingly rich contract.

Could be tomorrow. Carter is cleared to play and if Brodziak is back as well two guys need to come out - most likely Bergenheim and Schroeder.

When Cooke is healthy I could see Fontaine coming out. But when Zucker is back then who comes out? Maybe one of Cooke or Carter sits. I'm not sure Yeo will sit Haula or Brodziak at this point unless Cooke and Carter are back and getting more PK time.

With Cookes lack of production and seemingly unwillingness to get involved physically I could see him being scratched over players like Haula and Schroeder who both bring speed and more scoring ability and who both can contribute to the PK.

I would agree on Haula but not necessarily on Schroeder. I'm not sure Yeo would though. Also, I'm not really sure how close Cooke is to returning or if that is even in the cards. I'm not sure it has been reported exactly what his injury is but it was speculated by Russo that he was done for the year. I don't know if that meant done for the regular season or done for the year regardless of if they make the playoffs and how far they go.

If he can play and the Wild are up against a team like St. Louis or Anaheim, I think he'll be in. I'm not sure that's the best move to make but Yeo tends to favor guys like Cooke and Carter over guys like Schroeder and Fontaine. However, I could also see a rotation of sorts based on home/away games. Yeo may be likely to plug in a Fontaine or Schroeder at home when he has a little more control over matchups.

Just change your blog title to 2nd hottest team and goalie.

Sens hardly look like the hottest team in hockey right nowtrailing NYR 5-1...And the Hamburgler looks more like Grimace tonight!

I knew as soon as I saw T's blog title that we were in for some axe grinders.

Bottom line is that Ottawa has been hot, yes... But no, not as hot as the Wild. Since the break, Ottawa is 18 - 7 - 2. Minnesota is 22 - 5 - 1.

In that time frame 12 of Minnesotas wins were against notable or current playoff teams where Ottawa had only 8 wins vs playoff teams. Most notably 5 of those wins for the Wild were against 3 of the top 4 teams in the west. Ottawas most notables were 2 wins vs the Habs and one vs Anaheim.

For years I had thought Dubnyk was a big part of the problem in Edmonton, not the only reason, but a part of it. I wrote him off as being a bust, however, Seems it was not his fault at all as the oilers are even WORSE! Althoug he playing lights out for a competitor its good to see him having success with all the losing he endured. Hard not to like a good story like Dubs

Hasn't Minnesota lost ground on the team directly above them in the standings over the last 10 games?

Yeah, too much emphasis on injuring opposing team's players, forgot about scoring goals.

No, piss off.

Considering they're now only a point behind Chicago I would say they've conversely gained quite a bit of ground.

Actually when I posted, yes, they had. If you don't like that, I suggest you tell math to piss off, that's what you have a problem with.
