Obviously we'd love to see the finals, but looking at the competition in the West(no matter how well the WIld have played) and saying nothing short of the finals will constitute a successful season seems a bit of a lofty statement.

I would agree. They could lose in the first round and it wouldn't necessarily be a failure. The West is that good. More than one of the better teams could be out in the first round.

Why the hell is Ratgen still listed as a Wild blogger? He hasn't posted in over a year...
It's really too bad we can't get at least a couple dozen regulars in here. I can't really scream for a new blog when we have literally a half dozen fans at best on HB Wild.
This sucks. Best season EVER and nobody talking and averaging maybe a blog a week.
No offense Tony. I can't blame you, nobody but me and Chi read anyway.... |

Is there really anything new to write about/say though? As good as they've been, the storyline has been pretty consistent - Dubnyk's rock solid, defensively they're solid, and they just keep winning. It's not really flashy game by game but the whole sample of work is pretty impressive.
I think one interesting topic that hasn't been discussed much is what they do with the lines when everyone is healthy, especially Zucker. But I'm reluctant to go there since that may not be a problem at all this season. It does make for interesting speculation about what they do next year with the roster. |

Four games for Byfuglien. Out vs. Wild on Monday. That's good for the Wild. |

I know, but I just like to piss and moan!
I get a little envious of the team blogs that have regular traffic from their regulars whether they're winning, losing or otherwise.
I just don't understand why Minny HB can't attract more fans.
As far as the lines are concerned... I think it's a good problem to have this season(now). But not next season. Obviously they can't keep everyone under contract this off season should get interesting.
Sounds like Zook is chomping at the bit but Doc won't let him return just yet... |

I bet people just don't know about it. I happened across it during the Parise sweepstakes, and kept coming back for lockout news. But if the average person just stumbles in and reads an eklund "blog" or two, they might think the whole site is an April fools joke. Also probably a lot of people that read and don't comment. |

Good God i just hope a decent player like Schroeder doesn't have to sit for Cooke. I think we might have gotten a steal in Schroeder. |

Don't get your hopes up. I happened to be listening to Russo a little today when he filled in for Barreiro and when it was mentioned that Cooke might be coming back and who would sit, Russo indicated that Cooke is a Yeo favorite and definitely implied he would be in the lineup if healthy. He didn't hint it would definitely be Schroeder sitting but I think we can be fairly sure Cooke won't. |

Well who didn't see this loss coming from a mile away! 4 days off and playing arguably the best team in the East!
Wild came out dead flat tonight and several players never got into any kind of groove all night long. Carter had a terrible game, Coyle was awful. Stewart looked fairly inept for the first time as a member of the Wild. Fontaine with some bad plays. Penalties galore in the second pretty much sealed the Wilds fate.
Overall a team whose Mojo was interrupted with an unlikely week long break in the midst of the most influential run in team history. Of all seasons to get an opportunity like this where guys can sit and rest before a big playoff push... But who knows, it may have just been for the best. |

Maybe Yeo expects a more physical game against the Wings? It otherwise doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. They really need this one...The last 4 are going to be battles!

I got the impression from Russo's comments that if Cooke is healthy it isn't really going to matter who they play, he'll be in. Maybe that changes if he isn't that effective. |
