Whats the point of wearing your sabres jersey then if youre just going to stand up and cheer for the other team? Thats embarrassing. - Zinner21
None.....I went to the Devils game (no Jersey) and openly cheered for the Devils. Doesn't mean I felt good about it |

Thats fine. Just seems pretty contradictory to wear a jersey for one team and stand up and cheer for the other. Id be lying if I said i wasnt cheering for oiler losses the rest of the way. |

I see what you're saying. But here's my understanding of it.
We wear the jerseys to show our support for the franchise and its future.. just not the next 8 games. |

Edmonton lands 3rd pick. Hanifin, Marner or Strome? |

I tend to agree.
I got queasy seeing that, honestly. Bunch of cast-offs and kids on this team, and they're showing some pride. The fans have their reasons, and I hope this all gets forgotten when it's time to sign free agents, including our own. |

Agreed. ... its also not personal(player wise). |

So did our magic number go from 14 down to 11 with tonights game?
? - sskkoo1
Is that 11 more points lost or gained by buffalo or Arizona, respectively? |

Exactly, he's just insulting our intelligence at this point. Plus he's jelly that EDM is out of the running and stuck with their 3 #1 busts and no future. |

And that is what bothers me. Some of these guys are never going to touch nhl ice again. The last thing they will know of the nhl is their home fans hoping they lose.
I am going to the Columbus game. I hope they have last locked up. If so I will be wearing my jersey and cheering all the way. If not I really don't know what I will do yet. |

That's the magic of it - points lost by Buffalo or gained by Arizona lower that number |

Cheer outwardly for Sabres goals and breathe sighs of relief for C-bus goals

This was tough for me as well. Since they went on that massive January skid I finally relented to hoping they lose pretty much every game. But I would never be able to go to a game and root against my team. It would feel like betraying my city....
That being said I was rooting for the Sabres to lose like I have been but felt a bit extra dirty than I did in the past. With Hackett fighting through injury and young guys fighting for their NHL lives it kind of made me feel like the guy who forces the mom and pop store out of business to build my luxury condos.. I cant wait for this season to be over so I can never root against my team again. |

No we lost one point, they gained one point, so with the addition of the TIE point, which is a wash, 14 - 1 (lost Sabres Point) and 1pt (Won Arizona Point) = 2pts closer to goal.
14 = now 12 |

Are you really writing this crap now?
Players that are highly touted as these two aren't busts. Not in my short term memory. Sure 1st overalls are busts but the amount of attraction these two have gotten over the years basically says they are oozing NHL All-Star capabilities and will accomplish that feat.

Great. Let's bring personal emotions into this tank, and start feeling bad for players.
Some of these players may of never played a single NHL game if it weren't for the position of this team.

Some of them well be counting on in the playoffs in a few years. |

So 8 games left. If they go 2-6-0 they get last. I like those odds |

They're not cheering for Arizona. They're cheering for the 2015-2016 Sabres. |

Don't look now but Our Good Friends on the Long Island are dropping like a Led Zeppelin........we all thought it could happen, but it took longer than usual this year. I don't know all the details about how the pick is affected by their final ranking in the reg season vs. when they lose in the playoffs which they will but looking good! |
