It's amazing to me that he has the balls to call out the fans. - sbroads24
I didn't think what he said was that bad. I can't imagine any player would want to see that. At least he admitted "we put ourselves here". |

All teams that lose in the first two rounds of the playoffs will be ranked in order low-high of their regular season point total. - sskkoo1
Thanks
I'm stoked for that SECOND 1st Round Pick in one of the BEST DRAFTS in YEARS!
If we can get to 20th pick on that, JUST WOW!, or trade some 2nds to MOVE UP! I mean what does anybody think it would cost us to move from 21-15? |

I understand that people should be upset but this guy has been driving this tank all years.. Also should check his twitter bio before tweeting that "Its a two team war of attrition to the McEichel Cup. Sabres. Coyotes. I love Tim Murray's approach. You should too." |

If he wants to be mad at someone it should be the league. They're the ones who created this scenario. Fans are just rooting for what they feel is in the franchises best interest. |

I don't think what he said is that bad either. He's not mad at the fans. He actually said good things about them. It's just hard for him to see the opposing team get cheered for.
My question to that is, has he not happened to play against Toronto or Montreal here? Because having fans cheer for the opposing team in our building isn't exactly new. |

Deserved or not, I do think the fanbase is going to get a black eye for this. If it brings us a championship in a few years, I couldn't care less though. I've been as on board with the tank as anybody. I've been able to live through it and watch them play. Today was it for me, though. I'm so sick of the season. There's no way I want them to win another game, but the fact that we've got to the point that we have to openly root for them to lose, albeit necessarily, makes me wish it was July. |

C'mon... Weber knows no one is a Yotes fan. We're fortunate to have the lower GTA close to Buffalo. That's a true sports rivalry. |

I think he gets it. I just watched the video. It stings to hear the fans cheer for the other team, but he said he understands what the organization is doing and all that stuff. Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt him a bit to actually have to experience it. Honestly, I think it says a lot about him that he's bothered by it. He's got heart. Many of the guys that we've seen truck through here over recent years (I'm looking at you Ville Leino) just went through the motions and didn't care. |

I can see his point though. There's hoping you lose, and then there's openly cheering for it. I guess it falls under the "there are some things better left unsaid, even if they are true" theory.
Then again, I see commentary from people like Mike Harrington...and then I don't feel bad anymore. |

This. x10000000000000000
I currently hate myself every time I watch them play. And it's not a good feeling.
I don't even need it to be July. I just need it to be April 12th when we can put a fork in the season and look toward the offseason. |

The fact that Weber said, "We put ourselves here" should be all that is said! NOTHING about how fans act, There are no more genuine, supportive to a fault, (outside of TORONTO) we have been there for them downtown after the "NO GOAL" we are there to CARRY our Field Goal Kicker down Elmwood, when we just LOST our 1st SuperBowl game off his foot, We ALWAYS SUPPORT our players! If the Buffalo Sabres are a Professional Organization, They have had ALL players both AHL as well as NHL Vets in a Conference room at any point this season, Black would then explain WHY our fans are so knowledgeable and vocal is not because of your personal play, this is no "Bronx cheer", these fans are committed to cheering for their franchise to be in a ULTRA-RARE position that they we're asked to endure, asked to support buying tickets for teams they knew would lose at historic rates, and then when the season is just about over and another team is trying to take what we have all been after for 3yrs, how can we ask them to contain themselves to protect the feelings of "professional" athletes, most of which aren't from here, haven't had "our" experiences and will never understand, most will be taking a contract from ANY team if it helps their career. We come in knowing that! We see lazy players, missed assignments, and some Hard Working Players that give it there all.
Instead of local media being concerned about the players' "feelings" , how about they concern themselves with the FANS "Feelings" how difficult it is for US, we are then ones that CHEER for YOU, We are the ones HERE for you, We are the ones paying our money for the GAOL of our team. If anything, the PLAYERS should be apologizing to the FANS for nights they don't give it 100% for there is no question, the BUFFALO FANS GIVE 110% and NEVER let their teams down! |

If we went 3-5 we would finish 30th, that's without arizona getting another point. |

To Anti-Tankers ie: Do not suggest we have ever believed or wanted a player to not try their hardest to win, we know they do and we expect them to, which is even more difficult for fans than the players, In the infamous words of the football coach who said "WE PLAY TO WIN THE GAME" we all acknowledge this and understand it. We are not trying to 'circumvent" the League Rules ( which of course was never a black eye on the Philidephias, Rangers, Torontos, Montreals, Bostons, franchises for Having no restraint or rules against using their RESOURCES to obtain more talent than small market teams on an unbalance playing field, but even when the league finally saw this unfair advantage where there is not supposed to be one, The new rules with SALARY Cap Laws, so what did those proud franchises who stand for the integrity of the Holier than thou NHL, they went out and paid the best lawyers/accountants to construct methods to return this unfair advantage to them through "directly circumventing the Cap. No that is worthy of a Blemish or a Black Eye!
jaff @jaffryan · 44m44 minutes ago
@JeremyWGR @BNHarrington the same fan base that's had 97% attendance during one of the worst NHL seasons of all time? yeah, shame on us.

Edmonton lands 3rd pick. Hanifin, Marner or Strome? - TheSabresTaco
Hanifin ideally, or trade the pick. Dont need another small winger in Marner and Nuge-Draisaitl will be a solid 1-2. Still hoping you guys get on a hot streak and win a few games though |

I agree with everything except the fans getting a black eye. Rooting for either team or just sitting there quiet doesn't affect the outcome of the game. If only it were that easy the rafters at the FNC would be littered with Stanley Cup banners. And why do we care what people think? We don't owe the media or fans of any other market anything. |
