Players can have feelings and opinions and so can we. I have no problem with anything that happened last night. It's a business. In fact this season has been great for us being terrible. I'd rather have a year or two of this over bottom 10 finishes any day of the week. and I'd definitely rather this than the epic 9th place runs. - Smittyx36
Eggzactly. Been that way for years and finally seems we are setting up to change that. We (most) are happy at this point we are so close to getting the 1st pick. That is all us fans were given to cheer about this season. |

This point needs to stop being made immediately. A players salary should not hold any weight in any of this.
Because the market dictates they make x amount of dollars, he should not have any feelings? Is that what you are trying to say. - ImThatGuy
I'm not saying they need to be robots and have no feelings but what do they expect from fans as possibly the worst nhl team of all time????? I'm sure its probably demoralizing to play in front of booing fans or fans cheering for goals against you but their job is to play hockey and that's it, not worry about how fans act. |

Just the goals. I was there. I will admit I cheered a bit when Arizona scored each time. But I did not get out of my chair. And I cheered when the Sabres scored (except for that Gionta goal). - HonkFortheGoose
Oh ok. Well that doesn't seem horrible to me. fans at the arena could have acted very immaturely but I don't think they went overboard. |

Would you say the same if it was Girgenons or Bogosian that came out and said this? - ImThatGuy
No. Because they are important to the rebuild. They are actually good at what they do. |

"The Sabres players didn't like the fans reactions? Guess what fellas. You know how every time one of you jumps from one team to the next because your new team could pay a little more and you claim "it's not personal, it's just the business side of hockey"? This is the fan version of that." |

I have no guilt, no problem rooting for them to lose, or feel it will tarnish anything in the future. The lottery is the reality of the situation.
We are rooting for the best way to improve the team, there is 0 wrong with that. |

There is no problem rotting for them to lose.
There is also no problem with the players "Fighting back" against the fans.
The problem lies when the fans start attacking players telling them to STFU, you make millions and leave it you don't like it. |

If the fans don't like the product on the ice they save their money and stay home. Fans that committed to a season worth of quality product. and see last place with no refund available, have every right . How many fans were at the arena last night ? What do they have left to cheer for these last games ? |

Again, I have no problem rotting for them to lose.
If you do it openly at the arena, you better expect the players to be pissed off about it. That is the ultimate slap in the face for them. You are supposed to have the advantage playing at home.
The feeling I'm getting is fans are aloud to do whatever they want, because they don't make millions. But the players need to shut up and deal because they do?
(Unless I completely missed your point) which is possible. |

Nobody around me got overly rambunctious about the Arizona goals. The only Sabres goal anyone seemed to get upset about was the Gionta one. |

I don't blame him for anything he said to be totally honest. All those guys bust their asses day in day out (usually). I mean, if you were working hard and people mocked you and rooted for you to screw up, how would you feel? He gets it. They all get it. They just don't want to talk about it. They're going to keep trying their hardest for the rest of the year, then Murray is going to can Nolan not because he lacks talented players, but because the Sabres are horrid in every statistical category that's ever been invented.
"I can't wait to see what Nolan can do with talented players!" Yeah.. that's not happening. Sorry.
This explains everything. Arizona has worse players, yet somehow Tippet keeps their Corsi% at a reasonable level. - TheSabresTaco
This only proves that Corsi doesn't indicate the ability to generate wins or losses That metric doesn't tell a story that indicates anything of value except that the other team shoots more than the Sabres. WGAF.
Hey Arizaona, you got a great Corsi number but you still can't win!

The issue isn't wanting what's best for the franchise.
The issue is disrespecting the individuals and the effort they put forth. In a way, it's even worse than booing somebody. |
