When your team is getting outplayed all game long it's hard to cheer and be excited. Even when the sabres are up a goal, they rarely have the puck, are getting out shot and losing majority of puck battles.
Mike weber is silly. Sabres fans did not boo our goals for, throw jerseys on the ice, they did not chant "dishonor for Connor", they did not cheer when other teams had good scoring opportunitys. They just cheered for every goal that was scored. Some louder than others.
Maybe they are fans of a beautiful shot or play. |

This was Linda Cohn's tweet back to me this morning when we were discussing what took place last night in the arena.

To go to game & root against team you love is disturbing no matter if McDavid or Eichel is light at end of tunnel. @LilFin #sabres
Simple fact of the matter is that I have a huge heart and it hurt me to see a few players like Weber and Gionta take it the way they did last night.
I don't care what they make etc.
They are human beings with feelings, and that is always what trumps all for me.
Some of them are fighting for their NHL careers.
Like I said pro tankers, I get it, I really do.
But that, I think went a bit too far last night.
I felt their pain.

Did anyone consider that maybe Mike Weber just went through the motions and told the media what they wanted to hear for the sake of his career? If Mike came on and said "Oh I really don't care, its what the fans wanted. I'm going to grab some beers anyway. Who's joining me?". His slim hopes of landing a job would have been dashed. |

Too far???
Seriously??
Every goal for cheered for. That's too far??
Nobody boo'd our goals for. We didn't throw jerseys on the ice. There were no chants for McDavid. We didn't cheer shots against or scoring opportunity against.
Just cheered beautiful goals.

She is.
I enjoy her.
She loves hockey.
One of the few that do at ESPN.
I talk with her regularly about hockey, love it. |

Yeah or he could have refused to talk to the media. He just gives up something to talk about. |

This isn't peewee hockey. This is a (frank)ing business. I actually disliked the open cheers against the Sabres. But they paid their money and they can cheer for whomever they please. I think it's disrespectful, but that's not my problem. It wouldn't hurt for more fans to be silently happy, but whatever. I don't blame all the players one bit for trying as hard as they can. But to win 8 100% meaningless games, to a fan and organizational standpoint only harms the future of this organization. |

opinions vary. Pretty easy to skip over things you don't like rather than take steps to get banned on a hockey forum.
Not saying anything that simple is ban-worthy, but things elevate because people just have to give their input to someone they don't like rather than ignore it. |

He's a lightning rod whether intentional or not, but he still has a right to post his views. |

I am not sure how many times I need to say I get the "pro tankers" view.
The problem is the flip side.
But, that is what that is.
