I wasn't born in Nashville so I shouldn't have an opinion on living here... Living here 10 years is irrelevant.

Is that as cool of an arena as it looks on the tv? Id like to get out to that one.

The flip side is nothing but an ethics standpoint. This is a business. No one gives a poop how you get a championship as long as you stay within the rules. People will cry about it, but most won't give a damn. Will they guarantee a championship? No. But to get in the conversation, you need a difference maker and more. Time to start with this difference maker.

Pro Sports is big business. Bottom line driven.

There are two "generational" players in this years draft - guys we know that will most likely (statistically pretty high odds when you look at the last 20+ years) turn the fortunes of this organization around (quickly might I add).

McEichel = $$$$$$$$ to TP and the rest of the executives for the Sabres.

And the thing that is killing me right now with the National Press - is the total lack of respect for the fan of Buffalo. The sabres attendance (STH) is what, 97% for the season? The fans are consistently there rooting for a team that has been absolute garbage for 2 years running, and been out of the playoffs for 8 or so years. I'd love to see a comparison chart when CHI/PITT went through their "tank" years. I'd bet their attendance wasn't anywhere near Buffalo's.

The fans of Buffalo to me, by acting the way they have last night...just proves how much the people in the city care about having a winner. Buffalo is starving for a player like McEichel, and the fans are knowledgeable enough to know the ramifications (positives) that McEichel will bring to the team/city.

It's worth the trip. Nashville is a fun city for about a week.

I really don't see why that is worth bringing up, or repeating. He's been here a while, longer than many people who listen to the show.

What's the statute of limitations for buying a Sabres jersey after moving?

In my life, I've been away from Buffalo for about 9 years. Should I start counting from when I moved back?

Someone who was born here but moved to Boston when they were, like, 6 years old. Are they actually Sabres fans, or just sell-outs?

Ive been to about half the leagues arenas, and the experience in Nashville ranks on the bottom of my personal list. Mostly because of the live country rock band (lol), the "fang fingers" when they go on the power play (lol) and how little the average fan knows about the game of hockey there.

Anders Lindback will likely start tomorrow. Sounds like Nikita Zadorov could sit. Nolan not happy.

Andrew peters is embarresed guys, oh no. If anything is embarrassing it's the hockey hotline. So apparently what the organization is doing is a black eye on the franchise.i don't see it that way, we had many players with expiring contracts that openly said they didn't wanna be here anymore. How is that the managements fault, half of our players have been pampered by pegula. We needed a change in culture anyways our teams for years was way too soft.

If anything this is a blessing for some players. The fact that we do suck has given players opportunities to play in the nhl that they might not have ever gotten. So Andrew peters can shut his mouth the guy should feel fortunate that the organization that he's so embarrassed of is giving him a job. Wtf does he know anyways, he acts like his opinion is straight from the hockey gods. The guy was a no talent goon that somehow got drafted in the first round. Go see if the New Jersey Devils will employ you if your so embarrassed Andrew.

Eh, they're the one team that IS actually tanking. Toronto had playoff hopes this year. They go on an early losing streak and things look doom and gloom, then they start winning again and pop back into playoff contention. Then, news comes out they get the green light to "scorch earth" and start losing like the Sabres. They claim they're rebuilding and sell off spare parts at the deadline.

Where is the media calling them out for tanking? What the Leafs are doing is tanking. If they were rebuilding they wouldve gotten rid of Lupul, JVR, Kessel, Phanuef, Bernier at the deadline. No. They are tanking. They kept the valuable pieces they had and are purposely not giving a damn in order to lose and get better lottery odds in hopes for McDavid. Because if they do get McDavid, they got the pieces to be a threat. It couldnt have been more obvious than when the Sabres played them a week ago or so. Their players didnt give one poop about the game.

- theblueandgold

I like the distinction you make between the GM rebuilding and the players tanking. In my view, that's where all the "integrity" Chicken Littles are getting lost.

I went to an AHL game in Houston (the Aeros) with my brother in law and his family a few years ago. My wife was the only other person within 20 yards of me who understood the offside rule. Everybody just kept asking when they would fight.

The Nashville experience outside the arena is what makes it a fun environment.. And I think next year they are finally going to let us drink outside of the bars..
Like New Orleans.

I understand the players disappointment but also the fans views.

The players should and i do believe are trying their best (besides meszaros lol) but they can honestly only blame the management. Sadly if they do they dont have a job. Tough noodles i guess but its hard to blame the fans that have packed that stadium for a below average team for ever. Times are changing in Buffalo and if you dont jump on the pegula train youre going to get left behind.

Why not sit Weber? Wasn't he the reason for the Yotes PP that they scored and won the game ?

Nashville used to have a minor league team back in the 90's called the Nashville Nights (I think).... The only reason there were fans in the stands was because of the fights and because some of the fans were from up north.

The shear amount of ignorance is just unbelievable to me. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, the majority of America is clueless why would sabres "fans" be any different. Just reading channel 2s Facebook I just read a girls comment that we shouldn't lose because we drafted ej Manuel in the 1st rd so draft picks aren't everything. People just don't get it. I can't wait to sell my season tickets for double face value when these idiots are upset they can't get into the arena because our team is so good in a couple years.

To me the more maddening situation is all these people hoping to lose for someone they know nothing about all they know is that hes a generational player but im sure they have never seen Erie or BU play a game all year.
- hubie

True. I've seen Erie twice. Once here at FNC at I was just down in Erie last weekend for their last home game of the regular season. I haven't seen BU play, but did see the Prospects game at the FNC at the beginning of the year and watched as much of the World Jrs as I could.

Excellent observation and comment. It's ridiculous how no one is paying any attention to this obvious tank.

I hate to say it, but with Toronto doing what they've done my fears have grown exponentially over the last month. I fear the NHL is setting it up perfectly for the Laffs to get McDavid. Which makes it mission critical the Sabres finish last to get Eichel.

Because as always Nolan doesn't care about real results he only cares about effort.

Weber works his ass off. But on the play he was called for the penalty, they could have called any of two or three different violations.

Just as troubling to me is the no-look pass from Doan that led to Gionta's goal. And the stupid penalty from the Yotes with 5 minutes left. Those are deserving of way more attention from the media, in my view, than Weber's comments.
