I was a Nords fan to begin with bu I would still have a team either way
I think they were on the way out even if they had Lindros, when they moved they were one of the top teams in the East, just cheap ownership and not enough revenue coming in to support the team in a very small market. They were gone either way bc that ownership group wanted out bad.

Which is for the best, we never had to deal with the new uniforms coming if they didnt relocate. The legend of the igloo lives on

Probably, in the short term, but he admitted that he just didn't enjoy playing hockey. He "cashed in" his motivation and drive. It happens.

Look at what Crosby (player he is most compared with) did for Pittsburgh:

4th year Stanley Cup Champs

The Sabres have the best prospect pool in the NHL currently, which isn't even factoring the plethora of picks they have this year. Adding McEichel to that equation will separate Buffalo by a far distance to the next best pool of talent in the league.

IMO, GMTM starts making a lot of moves this off-season to vastly improve this team (no more tanking maneuvers). Two years from now the Sabres will be in the playoffs, with legitimate chances at Lord Stanley starting year 3 and beyond.

He had all world talent but didn't have the drive. IMO the more you read up on him, the more it screams Hockey wasn't his main goal.

This is why I'm not worried about McDavid or Eichel being a bust. Everything I've read about each one seems to at least mention the drive they both poses.

Now an injury derailing either of their careers, that would just stink.
