Kaleta is a very fast skater. It's everything else involving skill that he struggles with - sbroads24
He might be fast, but he cannot stop to save his life once he gets going. Its either slam into someone, the boards or fall. Not to mention he's not agile and his balance is laughable. I actually think he has some decent hands but he's a mess on skates.

lol
The starting point for this years first is both Crosby AND Malkin. And then some. no way a team passes up an 18 year old with 20 years ahead of him for 2 injury-prone late-20s not-in-their-prime-anymore cry babies. |

I wouldn't trade a top 2 pick for anything in the NHL. Not even Stamkos or Tavares who are 25 < |

You don't trade the pick regardless, and the whole article is if a team wins the draft like the Avs or Stars do you trade it for crosby to get back into the playoffs....
Ken Campbell you are the best at hockey, I'm so glad he gets a vote for all the year end awards.
The only one that is tempting is trading down to the number 3 spot. Phoenix would have to give up the 3rd, Ekman-Larsson, Boedker, and more to get that pick.
So if a team wins it that is coming out of their rebuild and are prime for playoff runs, do you make that trade...I probably wouldn't take it but thats w hen it starts to get tempting |

I'd argue McDavid gets any other non-playoff team into the playoffs just as much as Crosby would. This guy really thinks a team would trade at least 10 years of jersey sales, increased attendance, playoffs and guaranteed money-making for a 28 year old cry baby who's prone to injury and has only won 1 cup with his current team, when it actually had depth and veteran leadership? Crosby has not elevated Pittsburgh to much more than a popular market and a new arena.

I think McDavid would have more impact for a team pushing them into the playoffs. He would be sheltered under a current deeper line up and probably will start to emerge later in the season being an unstoppable weapon scoring clutch goals with young legs and no fear playing.
Crosby is too cerebral now, McDavid would be full of piss and vinegar in his rookie season |

I agree. Just look at what MacKinnon did last year on the Avs. Until that scrub from St.Louis decided to go full blown retard on him.

Backes, hes the worst. Shane Doan 2.0 with how much of a "warrior and leader" he is only in his own fan base but when you take the goggles off, you see that Backes only goes after guys smaller than himself |

But in all seriousness, would you do it 1f1 as in our 1st for Stamkos or would you want/expect more? |

I give Doan more credit than Backes, at least Doan backs his play up by dropping the gloves with anyone who comes along.
Backes is more like a Dustin Brown type, diving, kneeing, cheap shots multiple times a year, if not multiple times a game. |

Who will start to decline in 5 years.
Or you can draft one of the top talents in 10 years and have him for the next decade plus.

No way, it has to be minimum Stamkos and a 1st for the 1st or 2nd pick.
And best goal scorer in the game? I know Ovechkin takes about 100 more shots per season, therefore has a lower shooting %, and scores more on the powerplay, which means Stamkos is a more natural goal scorer. But still. He's instantly your #1 center and is pretty good at faceoffs but I'd take Ovechkin's physical style and point production over Stamkos. Maybe not a pushing 30 Ovechkin, but idk.
I look at it like this. I will quote myself on what I said about Crosby after he came into the league. I said he would NEVER score 50 goals in a season. I said he for sure will put up multiple 100-point seasons but I was sure he would never get to 50 goals.
I was definitely wrong. So by that logic, should I trade an 18 year old because I don't think he will ever score 60 goals in a season for an in his prime Stamkos who will almost definately score 50 goals again, and could score 60 again?
He has had a significant knee injury, mind you.
I just see no scenario where you trade McDavid, let alone Eichel (who many tell me is more NHL ready than McDavid) for Stamkos. What has Stamkos even done besides score goals?

Glad I could be of service, but seriously. He hasn't won a Hart Trophy or Lester B. Pearson award, hasn't won an Art Ross trophy, wasn't on the Canadian gold medal team last year (due to injury, but still, they were 2 minutes away from potentially losing to Latvia and missing the gold medal game altogether), hasn't "led" his team to a Stanley Cup final and he isn't very physical as a player. He fought Brad, I'm 5 feet tall Marchand this year, and it was a glorified bear-hug, and he takes a swipe at anyone who doesn't take his sh!t around their goalie, when he regularly takes an extra few slaps at the puck when its been covered or the whistle has blown.
Tell me, please. What has Stamkos accomplished that say, Phil Kessel has not? Aside from 2 Richard trophies. |

I think Stamkos and AO are 2 of the best players in the game, probably second and third best behind crosby
I like Kessel alot as well, but he is not in the same class as the other 2
players like stamkos and AO come along once every decade and are knowns
I would take stamkos all day long for a can't miss prospect |

Idk man, I respect your opinion but I don't see how Stamkos is top-3 player in the league. I'd put Tavares, P. Kane and even Teows ahead of him when factoring in accomplishments and all around skill. Stamkos isn't even top-10 in scoring this season and Patrick Kane would have been the Art Ross winner by a country mile if he didn't get injured, and probably the only player to break 90 points, too.
Again, what has Stamkos accomplished, really, that an 18 year old McDavid or Eichel hasn't? Aside from a head-start on career goals in the NHL.

If Stammer were a Sabre you would be saying the opposite.
If he's not top 3, he's without a doubt top 5. He's the best or 2nd best goal scorer of this generation |
