So what was the case with the World Juniors? When the games started to matter, he was nowhere to be found. That soured me on him a bit. Don't get me wrong. If the Sabres end up with him, they'll be a fun team to watch and in the conversation. But dammit do I want Connor McDavid badly. - buffalofan19

this country is too damn sensitive
if you suck, deal with it
if you (frank) up deal with it
if you act like an ass, deal with it
so much effort is made to try to deflect the problem and blame others for their response
what about accountability, pride and ethic?
and you were not my slave, you were my great-great-great-great grandfathers slave, take your hate and anger out on the tombstone. Now get your ass in school, pull up your pants and stop acting like a thug and learn how to be a productive member of society.

nothing pisses me off more then being told by the media, work place, society that we should feel sorry and try to examine why they made poor choices
it's simple, they are (frank)ing stupid and once they get in the system they know the gvmt will bail them out
every heffer on welfare should get their tubes tied and pick up trash to earn that lobster, steak and 300 cable channels
and a 2 am visit to ensure people are not "crashing" there with a dresser full of their own clothes

Clown, all I can say is that I have been around.
There isn't nearly enough real men in this world.
Many wannabe's and or actors that fail when the going gets tough.
I appreciate your post. |

I can definitely see the Sabres going 5-3 down the stretch. We have the easiest schedule by far compared to the Coyotes and Oilers. We have such hapless teams such as Arizona, Colorado, Toronto, Carolina and Columbus yet to face. Compare that to Arizona and Edmonton who play the top teams/teams fighting for a playoff spot here on out. You know Theodore Nolan will have the guys fired up to play the rest of the way. He will use the fans cheering for Arizona as motivation. I think we will easily get 3 wins. Wouldn't be shocked to see 5 or 6 though. Still 16 points on the table. This is FAR from over. - puppa on you
Columbus is rolling right now and even though Colorado hasn't won they are outplaying there opponents, their goaltending has been subpar. The only teams we may beat are Arizona and TO IMO.

I'm torn on this.
The positive is, or should be, that scouting would be much less of a crap shoot, because you'd get a better feel on how a player would turn out as a pro.
The downside is you'd see less players in the AHL, unless they changed those rules, and the AHL talent would drop like a ton of bricks. Teams may fold, because in theory you'd have more players making a direct jump from Jr or college, and the AHL teams would suffer for it, meaning less entertaining games, meaning less fans.
Just my thought. - grand-magus
It would also cost the players dearly, can't see the pa going for that at all. |

If Reinhart and McEichel (yes, I'm banking on last place at this point) even come close to expectations, there will be a plethora of 50 point players on this roster when it matters. I'm not opposed to keeping Ennis, mind you. I just don't see him as nearly as crucial as some seem to think. He's been a bright spot on a very, very bad team, but that in of itself does not make him any less expendable than anybody else. |

IMO it depends on the return
I think Ennis and our second pick in the first rd could fetch a very nice return

It had better. Ennis was a 1st round pick and is living up to his potential, put him on the 2nd line where he should be with competent players and he can have a nay more 50-65+ pt seasons.
Why would we give that up for the same potential in a prospect?
Keep Ennis, get rid of Grigy +, + draft picks if you have to, to move up into that 10-15 spot |

Question to ponder...
If Larsons and Grierenko turn out to be top 6 players, will Ted Nolan get credit for his tough love approach in getting them to play harder such that their talent and high compete level COMBINED enables them to be competitent NHLers? |

Wow. Lots to digest there, but one thing that cheeses me off is self-righteous folks who look down on anyone that has ever fell on hard times but pulls themselves up (while getting some help along the way).
My Mother-in Law became an alcoholic...stupid as the day is long and nearly killed herself. A year and a half later she is sober, going to aa 3 times a week, getting her strength back, and trying to work and learn new skills. I do not, for one secod, begrudge her qualifying for food stamps (So she can buy celery and peanut butter, mostly) while she gets back on her feet...nor can I wait for her to be on her own and move out of my house, but I feel ok at the end of the day for giving her a place to live after she fell hard, and I am glad she has had some support besides just me and my wife and daughter.

If you want to solve the problem of perceived tanking then just get rid of the draft all together. Make a day that all 18 or older players can be signed as free agents. With a salary cap in place the fear of certain teams hoarding talent won't be possible. Just imagine the excitement surrounding "rookie free agent" day. |
