I totally agree with that. But is that truly the situation though? Is Hodgson permanently situated in the bottom six with no chance of redemption? IF that were to be the case, it would stink, literally. It'd reek of agenda and example setting by Nolan, making Hodgson the lazy sacrificial pig. I'd like to see Hodgson move into the top 6 occasionally, but tbh Brian Gionta and of course Tyler Ennis are outperforming him in all aspects of the game. I wasn't able to watch the Colorado game, did Hodgson play 2nd line?
- TheSabresTaco

There have been quite a few games where he's really played well and busted his ass and yet he's still a fixture in the bottom 6, even with all the injuries and trades.

Even if Nolan wasn't happy with his work ethic, once the TDL hit and the injury bug struck, he should have been put back in the top 6. If he continued to play in a very mediocre way, fine. Move him back to the bottom 6, but there was no reason he shouldn't have been moved up once all that happened.

All those people would fit in the Harbor Center. How does Bettman allow this to continue? Like any other business, if one store is empty while the others thrive, you have to close it or move it. Imagine a mall bigger than the Galleria than only gets as many patrons as a dollar general does in a day.

Nolan is always the target or so it seems.

If a player is floating and refuses to give 100% why should he get rewarded?

The problem is the player, not Nolan.

Case and point is Larsson.

The young man finally began to give 100% and he was rewarded.

If Grigorenko doesn't like Nolan, that's tough, he certainly doesn't call the shots here.

From my view point, he doesn't like Nolan because Teddy wants him to earn it ,the way things in life are supposed to be attained that you really really want.

Grigorenko is sadly mistaken because I think he genuinely still feels his draft position trumps all and he's wrong.

He has a coach that is going to call his poop out whether he likes it or not.
If Grigorenko is too delicate to handle the criticism from his coach that is trying to get the best and most out of him, then he shouldn't be playing the game or at least not in the NHL.

Perhaps he ends up in the KHL where he can float and earn a paycheck.

Will Hodgson follow him to the KHL, or were you just stereotyping Grigs?

Also the KHL IS NOT A THREAT. Teams are folding, they cant afford to pay players. The league cap hit next year is $17MM

One word sums this up , consistency.

There has been none of that from him to date.

Larsson started to get top 6 minutes. Playing with Moulson/Ennis has helped show some of his skills, just saying.

I wish Hodgson would.

The KHL I was just tossing in there because right now Grigorenko does not belong in the NHL in my opinion.

In other words I don't care where he plays if he is going to half ass it every night wearing a blue and gold sweater.

Larrson is a fire plug. He's a nasty dude who puts in work. You can see it in his eyes. He wants it. He's got a chip on his shoulder.

There's been no consistency out of anyone on the team. Even the guys who have managed to perform fairly well this year like Ennis and Girgensons have had issues during the year. It's an 82 game season. Everyone is going to have stretches where things aren't going the way they want. But you have to have the belief of the coach that you can work through it. If the coach throws you in the dog house and doesn't give you an opportunity to get out, there's nothing you can do to change that.

Hodgson isn't some rookie who needs a bit of tough love. He's a skill player and should be playing with them. Period. Nolan is in over his head. Doesn't mean he's a bad coach, but I really don't think he's qualified to be a head coach. Assistant, yes. Head coach, no.

I'm not arguing btw, but in Michaels blog there is a quote that grigs says he was glad he was hard on him. So I wouldn't say he was too delicate.

Just saying, grigs doesn't seem to be huffing?

Edit: should have been wouldn't

I think you missed the most recent interview with Grigorenko. I know your'e a radical Nolan supporter but your rant is misguided. Grigorenko is actually quoted as saying he's glad with the tough love approach. He thinks he's upped his game.

Yes, since he woke up and began giving 100% he has been rewarded by Teddy for doing so.
The exact perfect way it is supposed to work.

When you say it like that it sounds like he's just another top 6 forward. They're both great, one's clearly on another level but the other could challenge for 1st overall in almost any other year.

I want McDavid too, the teams done everything in their power to give them the best shot, rest is out of our hands unfortunately.

But he hasn't upped his game.
Not the player I have watched at least.
There is no consistency in his game but that's my opinion.
I have already been here longer than I wanted to be.
Have a safe day.
Be well, do good work and i'll chat with y'all soon.

Yes He could challenge for first overall every other year, except this one, where there is a player better than him.

Eichle will be good. McDavid for me would blow the roof off of this entire organization.

I know 20% blah blah.

To me not getting McDavid will be a huge let down, and I am preparing myself for that.

I had already intended to post this earlier, but this damn work thing distracted me.

Anyways, thought this was funny. They are created by a person though who made up ratings for all pieces of this EHM game (players, staff, etc), but check out the Sabres (may need to click on them to see them better):

Nolan total points: 824
McKenney total points: 872
