That sounds about right. thing is you're going to have to find someone who has expendable picks/prospects and a desire to add a strong goal-scorer.

Buffalo would have been top of that list until they added E.Kane.

Otherwise you're going to have to settle for getting a little bit low-balled in a hockey deal.

I just feel there is so much else that can go.....I've never been a fan of scorched earth. I've seen Kessel thrive in a playoff environment, I've seen him show up when the chips are down. Do I care if we keep him, no, but he's not exactly a piece we have to move. A lot can happen in two years. And like I said, there are so many moves that can still be made before you trade your best player.

I am a fan of scorched earth.

I do agree though that there's far more to move out before Kessel does. I think most people who want to see Kessel moved is because 1. he'd bring in a pretty decent haul and 2. it helps keep the team near the bottom of the standings while we rebuild.

I actually think he will be dumped at the draft. hopefully we get more than most people think (that's mostly cause a lot of people think a 7th is too much for him) but I hope Nonis doesn't pull a Gillis and hold onto him far too long ala the Loungo deal.

Nichushkin + a 1st is fair in my opinion. Leafs should even take Horcoff just to keep up good relations. Unless he's a UFA this summer.
