I like Don Cherry, always have always will.
just finished watching the two part CBC movie on Don for the 100th time. - Lee Denault
I'm with you. I love how in this politically correct world, he speaks his opinion, no matter what. He knows a lot more about hockey then most people. Especially more so than the cast on cbc currently. He's an old school hockey guy who misses the glory days. He's also been doing this gig for so long because after all these years he can still get a large audience talking. |

Connor Brown now tops among all rookies in scoring. Tied for 9th in league scoring (only 2 pts back of being 5th). Safe to say this 6th rd pick was a steal.
Nylander,Brown,Leipisic,Leivo, Soshnikov, Gauthuier,Verhaeghe
Percy, Loov,Finn,Nillsson
Gibson,Bibeau
Lots of young talent on the marlies. |

agreed. hopefully the Marlies get into the playoffs and do some damage - as their leadership group is now quite a bit younger than it has been in the recent past - which would bode well for the players development.
even thought OF COURSE - the Leafs prospects all suck. - BorjeFan4Ever
Leafs currently 19th according to Hockeys Future.
combine Strome/Marner, a guy like Bittner/Sprong/Carlo + a willingness to let their top guys remain prospects next year, and the leafs will shoot up those ranks
edit: for those that are saying strome or bust, marner had 5g and an A over his 2 games this weekend. 132pts in 65 games on the year. If we do go Marner/Hanifin, there is a 6'5, 215lb Center named Logan Brown that we could grab next year |

I can let his beef with the lack of home grown Canadian talent on the Leafs slide. I could
... If he would just once call out his beloved Canadian hometown boys for choosing to play in American markets.
As for your last paragraph..that used to make Canada great. Now they sell out the ways of old to kiss the ass o every immigrant in the most politicaly correct way possible. I'd wish you a happy Easter, but I'm not even sure if that's allowed anymore..I'm the son of immigrants parents, so I'm not hating, but that's another debate for another day. - systemtool
Honestly why doesn't he ever call them out? He def should.
Bang on with the 2nd paragraph.

Bailey is a low risk short term signing with a possible long term potential
Brown and Blondie are long term investments

Morning - jimi james
I totally agree. I like leaving the kids in the AHL. Let them dominate there, before they are brought into Leaf Nation.
Nice what they did for the little kid.

I can understand feeling that Toronto should play Brown or Nylander in a couple NHL games over Bailey but when you consider playing Bailey was a condition to him signing and that the Marlies are still fighting to get into the playoffs there is no reason to call up Brown and take him away from the Marlies until either they are out of the race or you can get him up into a game without missing a Marlies game and without over extending him.
Add to the fact I would rather sign Bailey and not play Brown over playing Brown and not signing Bailey.
Relax Grapes, it isn't that bad. |

"Here is hoping that the Leafs draft either Connor McDavid, Dylan Strome or Mitch Marner in the upcoming 2015 Draft, because the selection of Jack Eichel or Noah Hanifin will undoubtedly unleash the Wrath of Grapes in the future. "
Who really gives a (frank) what he thinks? The fact that he's spent this long on TV rather than running/coaching a team shows how completely irrelevant he is in terms of actually managing the NHL teams of today. - lumlums
I love how mad people get over don cherry.
