The one thing they need is stones on the backend and its lets trade him? If he moves on fine, his choice. But unless its a package for a top 6 what is the point? - Pie
Because if he's not going to crack the Habs roster, why keep him around if you can get something you need via trade. How long do you hold onto him and hope he develops? |

Also..... teams lining up for Gilbert? Gilbert. GILBERT lets steal that mother(frank)er. - Pie
I think he would be a decent guy to play in the bottom pairing. |

Luke Schenn........lite - golfingsince
Its not too soon to retract this. Bluechip knocks someone down..Beaulieu fights...trade the one big ass defenseman that might do both. Says everyone that could skate the rideau canal without beheading children...maybe |

He has a pass out first that is nice but curls to the boards instead of the net when he gets hit.Pateryn curls to the net when he takes the hit...sometimes. All these young dmen take hits but sometimes they leave Price when they do it to the inside. (frank) those guys. |

Or he could just be a big slow defencemen that most forwards could just skate around a majority of the time. The game has changed. If you can't skate well, you won't do well in the NHL. |

I agree the defence isn't great, but if tinordi is an upgrade, why is he not playing already? I'm sure the coaching staff would be smart enough to figure that out. |

Well that's your opinion and I hope he does turn into a top 6 d man for the Habs. I just can't see it happening anytime soon with the current group they have. |

I don't know. But I wouldn't just throw Tinordi out. I thought he did some damage when he was up. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to make their offense pay IMO. |

Ok, but you don't want him taking a ton of penalties either. You don't see many players go for a huge check anymore because 1. If you miss, it's likely an odd man rush and 2. Risk of taking a penalty or getting suspended if you make contact with the head. |

I'm just (frank)ing around Pie. He does need to step up on his development soon however, the clock is ticking. |

I remember reading the AHL announcer for Hamilton saying that there were nights Tinordi looked like a top pairing NHL player; but over 1/2 of the games he plays he looks completely out of place. If its just consistency/maturity then he needs to find it fast; if he has already peaked talent wise then thats just sad and its time to give him to someone willing to pay for the inches rather than the talent. |

Resign Gilbert/Petry?
Nope.
Only trade Tinordi if you can package him with a certain center to get a #1 center.

Hello! - pete26
McKenna has pinned Desharnais and Therrien as the problems holding the Canadiens back
Also Eller would have DD's numbers if he had his spot. |

It helps put me to sleep. Fanboys tearing at each other after their team lost is quite soothing. |

Think Eller gets a bad rap; he is a decent 3rd line C. He has some size, is OK at face offs, takes a lot of d-zone face offs and does well enough in his own end. His big downside I see is crazy high number of turnovers in offensive zone. Probably be best if he just changed lines every time the puck moved over the center line.
DD is okay, but spends way too much time on his butt. Every time I think he is about to make a play any other player can push him down with little effort. He could take lessons from St Louis on how to play beyond your physical size.
Bottom line is there are no good centers on this team. Plek is probably the best and he is only a second/third line center on most teams. Galchenyuk has the skills but apparently nothing else, yet. |
