8 is the magic number for Ari
5 for edm - Cup Crazy '07
No. Maybe I wasn't clear, sorry. I've read all the debate about the Magic Number.
I'm looking for the SPECIAL number: yknow, how many Points the Sabres have to miss combined with points the Coyotes earn, that guarantees the Sabres 30th place. The SPECIAL number. |

It would just cost the buying team a "bit" more IF those were the guys they thought would put them over he top - bflbilsfan
A "bit" more? That bit would cost us McDavid. That bit better be 5 1st rd picks. |

When you think of it all of the fan favorites over the years most of the time are the guys who throw their bodies around.
IMO McDavid is the most electrifying player since Mogilny
Theres just that way Mc D plays that makes the game seem like everyone is in slow motion - hubie
I think the way Eichel plays might better lend itself to the style I play that happens when the playoffs come around.
Things get tighter & more physical.
McDavid's speed can really open things up the ice for others though, and he's such a good playmaker.
Maybe we'd trade down to #2 for the right price?
What would Arizona have to give us?

Interesting idea, but wouldnt it make the leading tanks be even more tanky? You would try to be emilinated first so you would be worse sooner. I dont think i made much sense but thats my m.o. - hubie
Haha I get what your saying. I'm not sure if this would be a common issue though. |

We only need a combo of 8 more points to possibly tie, 9 points official gets us Eichel. |

Both players are AWESOME!
I see Echel being more "Messier" like.......
I see McDavid being move "Gretzky" like......
I would choose Messier |

All this trade from 2 to 1 talk is way too premature. Until we lock in the guaranteed 2nd spot, I don't want to think about options about what to do with it.
I mean, we are a win tonight away from this going the wrong way in a hurry. When the Sabres win in regulation tonight, the lead will be down to 4. Everyone knows there is no chance we lose to the Laffs, so all of a sudden the lead is down to 2..........
So, I don't want any part of this talk about trading a 2nd overall pick that we haven't even locked up yet. This "lead" we have is a lot of smoke and mirrors if we win in regulation tonight. |

Now your on it Fitz.
I wouldn't trade what was discussed earlier to go from 2 to 1 in this draft, BUT
I sure as hell would be willing to move into 2 from 1 if the Sabres won the lottery.
However, rather than years of draft picks, I would want a couple of bonafide starters and A level prospects. I would trust the draft position of that team 2+ years down the line (I'm thinking of the learnings from Vanek trade... That didn't work out as we suspected it may have). |

And the Leafs play extra hard against the Sabres. We could easily lose that one.
