Btw all the McIlrath supporters..who would you prefer a the 7th defenseman McIlrath or John Moore? - MeanestOfTimes
Honestly I don't know. I haven't seen enough of McIlrath play to really give a true assessment on anything. I don't know his speed, his positioning, his angles, his ability to read plays, his shot, his consistency, his ceiling, his floor, etc.
And that's basically my point in arguing for him to be given some more time. Nobody here ever watches the guy ever. Nobody knows anything really about him. All they see is 10th overall next to his name on Wikipedia and 5 year old scouting reports and as a result of that have a pre-built bias against him and try to twist any organizational decision to show how they have no faith in him.
Maybe he's a Bieksa, maybe he's a Carkner, maybe he's not even that. But the thing is NO ONE here is qualified to say one way or another. We can all make assumptions, but those are just assumptions. And to write him off just from 1 game against the Blues is like being one of those advanced stats loonies that believe they know everything about a player from a stat sheet and that watching a player is useless, only worse because at least advanced stats add a little substance to somebody's argument. With McIlrath, it's just pure hate with no substance at all.
So in a nutshell, all you McIlrath haters are like Corsi fanatics only worse. Suck jimbo's balls.

He is a bust man.... just let it go....we (frank)ed that pick up and thankfully it didn't harm us. And to think I was soooo (frank)ing excited to get a top 10 pick thinking it would change the franchise...

I bet you think Kopitar is the best player in the league and the only reason he's not leading the league in scoring is because he's unlucky too
