Burrows takes a run at Gaustad's head without the puck around. Gaustad stayed down (most likely concussed) then Bieksa came over to say some words to him while he was down-apparently words that got him tossed from the game. Full of class that organization.

Bieksa should have been tossed earlier in the game for a hit to the head of Stalberg.
I'm definitely down for watching Gaustad mash up Burrows' face in their final meeting
I actually need a favour from dozzer today so please just stay out of his hair and don't mention any of the things I've said about him in other threads.
The deal would remove a chunk of long term salary with out taking anything long term hindering back in return. Also getting 3 good pieces for the rebuild. Petrovic is a former 2nd round pick (36th over all) right handed d-man and Trocheck is a former 3rd rounder (64th over all) centre. So a 1st, 2nd, 3rd for Kessel pretty much and not having to eat a portion of his salary seems fair. A better deal might be out there contingent on us eating a portion of his contract for 7 more years. I don't believe labelling these prospects "table scraps" is a proper assessment and I think your dreaming by expecting Huberdeau and the 1st. - dwoo33
Leafs are not going to be hurting for cap room once they move Lupul, Bozak, Dion, etc.
All I'm saying is they are 100% capable of hitting a home run with a Kessel trade. By that I mean 1st round pick, top (A-level) prospect or young, skilled roster player and another prospect that might be a risk/reward kind of player.
They aren't going to take on a couple of B and C level prospects for a player of Phil's calibre. No other team's GM has a gun to the Leafs head. If they need scoring, pay up. If not, then we'll keep him. Hasn't exactly led to any success with him here, so why would we think that would change any?
There is literally NO benefit to trying to move your best player for anything less than a home run deal.
If that means he stays a Leaf, then he stays a Leaf. Rattles off 30 next year and has 10-15 teams trying again with a better offer. Leafs aren't handcuffed in this instance, they are in the power position.
