Rebuilding (patching) the medicrity Peace bridge again. Still the same ugly bridge but now will have a overlook platform to see how ugly it is. A new state of the art one has been wanted for years. Only way to get that is to tear it down and rebuild. Some will complain they liked the way it was and patch jobs were fine . In a way, it's the same as whats happening with the Sabres.

The money that is going into this project I can pretty much guarantee you that you won't see a "new" bridge for a long long time.

Ovi is absolutely a first ballot HOF. He is scoring 50+ in an NHL that has its lowest scoring totals since the early 1960s.

Idk about you guys but this kind of hockey is terrible compared to the old NHL. I miss the days where getting 100pts was possible and a couple guys hit that total. The NHL needs to make scoring its priority. The tanking should be the least of there concerns

I miss the high flying days of the 80's where you had multiple 100 point guys on the same teams.

Unions make sure people are not being paid slave wages and that we have proper medical coverage and that I have a decent retirement for all of my hard work .You certainly don't understand what a Union represents if you represent it your way, falsely.
Union is not what is just good for "me".

Unions artificially drive the cost of good up by inflating wages unnecessarily. Strong arming Corporations and governments into unsustainable contracts is what's driving businesses, and local/ state economies into ruin.

wasn't around to watch that hockey but being a statistics guy i know that hockey must have been a blast to watch. Maybe one day we will see scoring like that again.

The Peace Bridge is a non profit organization believe it or not.


The powers in charge are pushing the Union guys out. When I worked there in 97 and 98 there was close to 50 toll and traffic officers. There are less than 20 now.

It does not need to be a drastic change. Shrink goalie pads by an inch, make sure that goalie jerseys are not 10 sizes too big.

Yep, and in 2015 believe it or not many hard working citizens are working for what I would classify as "slave wages" with no medical coverage, pension etc.
Perhaps some even on this board are.
The year to date means nothing, it is still happening everywhere where corporate giants that try to get away with not paying this and that for their employees.
What do you think "scabs" get paid when they agree to work a site that is non Union.
Not to mention, the quality of workmanship is what suffers egregiously in the end because any and all corners are being cut.
