Depends on the goalie situation

I think goalies will be the least of the problem. the D won't have much depth or experience. And the offense will still struggle. There isn't much in the UFA market, and Murray would have to pull off several blockbusters to fill the D and RW slots.

Kane alone wins us 5-6 games alone. Give us a real goalie there is another 10 wins there. Gus dosent get hurt put a few more wins in there. Reinhart/ other prospects to take teh place of phil fing varone or other ahl players. The ufa market dosent have to be great just a few players to plug in. This team is more AHL then NHL

I'm sure this isn't really news, or uncommon knowledge, but my dad heard that everyone on staff under Murray is at risk after the season. He said trainers, coaches, locker room attendants and everyone is at risk.

I don't know how much of a shake up that will bring, outside of the coaches and trainers, but just thought I would pass that along.

Gorges, Bogosian, Risto, Zads, Pysyk, Weber, McCabe are the 7 I see.

Offering both Toffoli and Jones where you aren't compromising your compensation in both deals. LA will likely stick to Toffoli but won't be able to sign both. I think in that case you lose a 2nd and a 5th for the deal he was offering for Jones.

My guess the entire coaching staff is let go. Maybe Irbe stays. The trainers well my guess is that they are interchangeable.

The locker room guys aren't going anywhere. Williams, Ripper etc are safe

Yeah I don't really know how inside the person he talked to is, but figured I would share. I think Irbe is hopefully kept, and that any potential new coach sees what he does with the caliber of goalies he's worked with.

10 more wins is still bottom 5. I would not count on kane giving us 5-6 games alone either. Winnipeg was no juggernaught with him on the team. Other teams have prospects too. Especially teams near the bottom like us. Plus two teams will get mcdavid if we don't

Idk if we'll find a goalie that will put up the same save percentage our goalies have been doing this year. And i agree our LWs are set. But we have absolutely no one to put on the right. IMO Reinhart still won't be ready next year, and if he is up he won't have much of an impact.

Next year, even if we land of the the two previously mentioned players, we are shaping out like this..

I see Ennis as the 2nd line RW or Reinhart is on the wing until he is more comfortable and they switch.

A few thoughts about the situation.


1) People were pissed when we won last night. People are going to be pissed when we do anything from here on out that might jeopardize the tank. Just like if we are in a playoff series and we do something dumb and blow a game, people will be pissed. Jumping on people in the moment and telling them getting Strome is okay isn't going to fly. Back in 99' at the no goal game, do you think those fans wanted to hear 'what a great season they had' thrown in their face? No.

2) I know getting Strome or some other pick at #3, we could still become great with all of our assets. The only thing that bothers me is, when Pegula bought the team, fans were questioning his decision making as far as the things he was doing to put a competitive product on the ice. These fans weren't wrong. But team President Ted Black and others took the opportunity to belittle fans by throwing the Harbor Center in their faces like, "We what about that, huh?" . I heard Ted Black do it on WGR more than once. And the fans in question weren't being belligerent they were simply calling into question the obvious, and history proved them right. The Harbor Center is great, but we didn't ask for that. We want competitive hockey.
