if they move dehaan in the off season I'm going to be extremely pissed off. They won't get back what they'd be giving up. - Isles_since_6

None of them? Not true...
but your new found appreciation of Bailey is duly noted - keaner17
its not new found. Always like him. I do agree he needs motivation and lacks fire a times. I like the way he is playing lately.
I like Strome centering the second line tonight. |

Quite honestly at this point I'd bet de Haan and Grabner will be components of an offseason trade. Clearly Cappy isn't a fan of either - keaner17
When we lose in 5 in first round it will be Cap who is gone. |

We could lose in 4 & Cappy will still be here... He earned it with a (predicting) 100 Point season.

In terms of sheer talent, I'd say:
1. Leddy
2.Boychuck/deHaan
4 Hamonic
That doesn't mean he's a better dman but simply a better combo of skater, passer, shooter than allbut Leddy. de Haan has top pairing talent. All problems this year have been between the ears - keaner17
I don't know, I think Travis has had a fantastic year. He eclipsed 30pts and has been a rock defensively. He isn't as smooth as a skater as de Haan but he is still a pretty strong skater. He frequently jumps up in the play with the puck and/or joins the rush.
I'm not worried about de Haan and I do think he should slot back in ASAP, as Strait isn't an upgrade. |

Butchie or Steve Sterling could have coached this team to 100 points. |

Yes but I said second in terms of talent. Travis is the better dman imo but de Haan has more skill |

No argument. But as long as Wang is the majority owner.. ANY cause for celebration will be rewarded with loyalty.

I cannot argue with this and with the new owners a year from taking over, I cannot see any big coaching hires being made until then. |

its feels like forever since the isles last played.
hope they got a few good practices in.

If anything goes wrong, I can see Weight getting a one year trial to see what he can do before the new owners take over. |

Everyone seems cool with the #Isles lineup tonight. Glad we've all come to a consensus at last.
I guess Staple doesn't read Hockeybuzz. |

As usual, right on the money, Dan. Snow used up a lot of draft picks to trade up to be able to draft CDH something like 12th overall that year. Snow doesn't like to admit his mistakes (see Bailey, Josh) any more than us mere mortals. |

I like deHaan and think he should be given more time to develop. I was just explaining why I agree with Dan that Snow is not about to trade him. In other words, even if Snow viewed him as a mistake, he'd likely hang onto him a long time like he has Bailey. |

I hear you. Kid has taken a step back which isnt completely unusual for young defenseman to do their second season. Dehaan is going to be on our blue line for a long time imo. |
