Kenneth S. Hitchcock. Or Cload if Boston fires him.
If not, the Penguins have Martin in house. I seriously can't see Babcock leaving Detroit.
I think hockey has passed a guy like Tortorella by; then again, that's what they said about Bob Hartley and Darryl Sutter. Hockey is such a small world that a guy like Bowman can just really suck while coaching in Buffalo but then goes on to have an absurd streak in Detroit.
I see what you're saying about Hitchcock's record and why he may be available. If He or Cload are on the market it's because their teams stopped winning playoff rounds. Still, I think they match well with the kind of philosophical approach I think would best serve the organization. - Johnny Wrath
Hitchcock was awesome. really wish it worked out with him in Philly |

That team was a real mess around 2007. Things really didn't turn around until Laviolette came in. |

I would like Julien but it would take more than a bad playoffs for him to be fired. The Bruins would have to miss the playoffs for him to get fired and even then I don't know if it would happen. Would the Pens hire in house and promote Hynes? I'm not familiar with his overall style or demeanor |

The Philadelphia Flyers completed a four-game season series sweep of the arch-rival Pittsburgh Penguins with a 4-1 win at the Wells Fargo Center in an intense Easter Sunday matinee at the Wells Fargo Center. The victory was the Flyers' eight consecutive win over the Penguins. With the win, the Flyers improved their home record this season to 22-9-7.
I didn't know it Was That bad. What a Shame. We need a Shake up.
Can we at least get to the 2nd round in the playoffs? How many empty nets can we miss? |

It's amazing we ve been told constantly by this blogger how good the pens fenwick numbers are... Second only to San jose ... Look where both teams are??? Advanced stats in hockey are unreliable to say the least ryan |

Call up Kap AND Sundqvist the first game of the playoffs. I'm frustrated just like everyone else but, unlike many, I still think the Pens have a shot in the postseason. But there are flaws....long term, huge sample size flaws. At least 2 people in the bottom 6 should be benched. Put Sundqvist somewhere in that bottom 6. Push Comeau or Kunitz to the third line and let Kapanen fly around with Geno.
Seriously, it pisses me off so many players cant FINISH. But more so, there are too many players that provide NOTHING. Take a gamble on youth and upside. We need to start trying to win... I hate the conservative play not to lose mentality. |

Umm, we need to make the playoff first.. Which is looking more and more unlikely by the day.
I knew this years team was not good with all the injuries, but missing the playoffs!!??!! Wow... Never would have guessed that! |

i thought we still had like a 95% chance of making it. could be wrong but did it change that drastically since todays game? |

If Ottawa beats toronto tonight (likely), and than beat us Tuesday (also likely).. They are in and we are out at that point, with each team having 2 games left. (Isles/Sabres for us), (Philly and NYR for them)
Ottawa definitely has work to do to get in.. But with the way each team is playing, seeing Ottawa in and us out is definitely a real possibility. |

It is. Mason stole that game today but that can happen in any of these last few games. I certainly wouldn't be putting any money on us right now.
On another note... I noticed at one point Geno cringed and seemed to be favoring his leg. He has something nagging him for sure. |

Again, an average at best goalie looks like Patrick Roy and the Pens give up another goal to a poopty player (White). This is this team's MO.
We aren't making the play-offs folks. Not with this lineup.
David Perron needs to get dealt. People were female doging about sutter and his play earlier, well Perron has been worse the last month. I think his first few weeks, he was happy to be out of Edmonton, and who wouldn't. Now, he is playing like he is in Edmonton once again. - Oneonta Penguin
Being in the top 5 in GAA and Save% with the Flyers defense in front of you is "average?" |

Actually we hold the tie breaker over Boston and Detroit. Boston is playing well enough to blow by us but Detroit isn't. But if we don't beat either Ottawa or the Islanders the final game against Buffalo will be meaningful only to Edmonton as that will give them a second lottery pick. |

If Buffalo aren't tanking I can see in the realms of probability the Pens not winning another game this year. Currently the Leafs are holding on but with the Sens never say die attitude I can see a hot 3rd for them, beat us next, Philly will surrender if it means Pens suffer & probably losing to the Rags. So Sens easy. Unless there is a huge turnaround then it's pick your club for the 420m first at your local course! |
