I'm so disinterested in the makeup of this team at the moment that if not for the Perron trade of this years 1st I almost wish the Penguins would collapse and miss the playoffs
We'd get
1) a 1% chance at McDavid, if not, a top 15 pick
2) Johnston would be so fired he'd have 3rd degree scarring on his way out the door
3) Rutherford may also get the axe, perhaps enticing Babcock to come here with some GM authority
4) Massive roster purge hopefully leading the Sutters of the team getting shipped out for a few pucks
5) a 2-3 year retool under Babcock resulting better long term outlook - RoloTahmasee
You do realize that Babcock has struggled to make the playoffs every year since Lidstrom and Holmstrom retired, even though he has two HOF centers in Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Plus his top protégé, Todd McClelland, has done very little with a stacked San Jose team. I just don't get the love for this guy. |

Unless you spoke out against the Zdeno Chara hit on Pacioretty then you are no better than the people you are criticizing. - Thunderbolt
I didn't speak out because there wasn't any foul play. The rinks were changed for the better as a result. Better example? I was not upset about the Randy Jones hit on Bergeron, because Bergeron put himself in that position. Anyway, the point is not that you should have spoke out against Orpik, its the hypocrisy of crying foul when your player gets hit and defending your player when he does the hurting. This incident is a perfect comparison to the Orpik hit if you want to make it a discussion of necessary hits vs legal ones |

No coach is going to make up for the injury problems we're having this year. Admittedly, I'd love to have Babcock with this team however. I think the team could benefit from a disciplinarian. |

I love that a boarding penalty wasn't called, maybe Blake should have laid on the ice for 5 minutes to draw the penalty. That was a by the books board right in front of the ref. It is unreal. |

The vast majority on this board are consistent in that the ones that say Bortuzzo's hit and Doan's hit should be viewed as either legal or one worth a suspension. I am in the legal group, Ryan Wilson is in the suspension group, no hypocrisy or double standard on this issue.
Edit: Pardon the grammar. |

I hate Dubinsky but he definitely has the right game for the postseason where everything is allowed.

Pretty sure Perron got away with a boarding call, but that was right after Sutter got tripped right behind the net. Its just ugly.
Scuds with a horrible horrible turnover. Pens getting sloppy |

Glad we have dman who know how to clear the crease and punish guys for going to the net. This group is allergic to contact. Glad we traded away the only 2 who would hit. |

The pairings have been mixed a lot so far. Cole and Martin are the only two I trust right now. Pouliot didn't take anybody on the 2nd goal.

Pouliot isn't ready for NHL playoffs. Maybe as a situational player, but I don't trust him at all.
