Last game is tonight at 9pm.

It's funny. I say the same thing about the World Cup. Thankfully, I only have to do that once every two years (men's and women's).

I'm waiting for two (too, to) things to watch. NHL draft slotting and NFL draft.

I REALLY enjoy the NFL draft.

I'm not a soccer fan either but at least the World Cup can be exciting. Watching basketball seems stupid because every play is the same and every game is determined in the last minute and a half. Too many timeouts, etc etc...

And it's all about preference. Some people think the constant talk about a bunch of young overhyped athletes being lined up and selected is a waste of time too. Just like some think the NCAA tourney is a waste.

Saying everything is determined in the last minute just shows you don't like basketball. It couldn't be further from the truth. We all have preferences. I find the nfl draft stupid and way over televised but whatever.

The Kentucky Wisconsin game was great start to finish! One of the best ball games I have seen in a long, long time.

Say what you will about it, but this country's best athletes are still playing basketball, and it has been this way for a long, long time.

It's also why USA hockey will never completely "catch up" to Canada.

NFL average salary - $2MM
NBA average salary - $5.5MM

One sport you get your face bashed in average career is 3 years and under. The other you don't and an average career is 5+ years. It makes sense honestly.

One sport has about 13 players per team, one has 53 per team. Much tougher to get into the NBA

Those figures are a little misleading for a few reasons, though. The NBA has far fewer roster spots is the main one.

That being said, it is a good point. However, the notion that you don't have to be tough to play that sport, or that it isn't physical, insults my intelligence. I played hockey in high school, but the rest of my family played and/or coached basketball, so I grew up around the game. I love hockey, but I never understood the "hockey versus basketball" mentality that comes from the hockey crowd, and trust me, it does exist.

I took a mini vacation this weekend. Shut my phone off and everything. It was amazing.

Gonna be offline for a whole week starting Saturday too, because I'll be in Cancun.

Yup. I should be arriving right around the same time the final Sabres game is ending. So I'm going to cleanse myself of this terrible season by lounging by the pool/beach, soaking up some sun, and having a fun/relaxing time.

There is only a hand full of current NBAers that could play in the 80's and 90's. It has turned into a priss sport. The current guys would curl up in a corner sucking their thumbs if they had to deal with going in the paint like the greats did back then.

I think where this came from should be cleared up "The top athletes in the US"

I understand it's relative when you get into 2nd and 3rd tier athletes.
