Sounds like Weber may be done for the season. One less voice rallying the locker room.
Greedy or not, I want a 3 or 4 point lead after tonight - Khymlev13
This could be bad, with Weber out it means a good D could replace him. |

This is a good thing. Weber plays better than many fans give him credit for and he plays with intensity. NBCSN fawns over the guy when they do Sabres games, not that they are the be all hockey scouts but Weber is much better than some fans on here give him credit for. Hopefully more time for Stachan, mistakes by Zads and less intensity that filters down to the rest of the team. |

Mike Weber is a huge reason the Sabres are where they are. He's definitely intense, but he's equal part dumb as a rock as far as hockey IQ goes. |

Thanks, yeah, not drunk, I have to edit my dissertation proposal after the game so no booze for me for awhile. The stress on multiple ends. |

Sure, he'll take a dumb penalty here and there but he's not a terrible Dman as many make him out to be. This is a plus that he is out. |

I wouldn't say he in particular is a huge reason we are here, but him playing big minutes here makes a ton of sense |

Was that Harrington asking Nolan if he's thought about his job, or talked to Murray about it, in pregame show? |

Taking dumb penalties
Trying to play goalie
Offensively inept

Jim Schoenfeld #2
Bill Hajt #3
Those didn't make them bad defensemen. He isn't in their league but he is adequate and has good games. |

He's had a few good stretches I agree, but he seems to always revert back to the unplayable version at some point.
I root for the guy because he definitely cares, but if it comes down to him or Ruhwedel as our #6 next year I'll try out the former. |

Sorry, here is a dis-agreement Bla defenseman who is to me nothing special. If Weber is considered in the long term future for the Sabres that is a bit worrying, actually very worrying. No real speed, no real shot, not really tough, pretty low hockey I.Q, just kind of plays D, I would hope guys like McCabe/Pysyk have more upside than Weber. |

PYSYK is a lock (as long as his mysterious health concerns heal)
Reawehdal and McCabe are good as well, keeping Weber as a 7th D is fine by me. |

My bad.
I was under the impression the discussion was just involving whether he's trying to actually get better long term. And I believe that move is evidence that he is.
As far as good gm, tough to say at this point. He's done what he could to thin out the roster, get a high pick and get as much value as possible from pieces that weren't part of the future.
What he does beyond this year is the real test of his abilities. But all things considered, pretty solid thus far - Ihateallofu
I could have misread it but I think HardHat has trouble with people hating on Nolan while loving Murray when in fact Murray really hasn't established himself as even an average GM yet. Like I said though, time will tell with Murray. |

Defecation like this makes my head numb.
So I have this right, you expect the players that are trying to keep their playing careers alive and a coach whose job it is to coach and win hockey games to just quit and not try anymore?
Not being disrespectful but you must not have ever played organized sports.
For who are the players and Teddy doing this for?
For Murray? To make Murray look good?
To make Murray's job easier so he can look like a genius when he drafts McDavid or Eichel?
Am I getting this right?
No, you are NOT GETTING this right, you seldom do, but that's what Concrete Dust does.........Why the hate on Murray is just so obvious in your rants. If he picks one of the two generational talents his job is easy and he looks like a genius?? Really. The building of the support group around that player would be equally important.
Am I playing along properly?
Let the players and Teddy do their jobs that they get paid to do.
Let Murray worry about how he is going to build a winner without taking the easy path.
Most of the talent in the system and on this team was acquired mostly by Darcy.
This direction was also begun by Darcy, this was not Murray's plan.
I am clearly not as enamored with Murray as most here are.
If Teddy and his players fall from 30th position simply from doing what they get paid to do has Murray failed at what he gets paid to do?
Because signing Gionta , Meszaros, Strachan, Benoit were certainly not moves to win but rather to OPENLY lose.
I am tired of hearing about the disdain for Teddy for doing nothing more than what he gets paid to do and the praises that get sung for a guy in Murray that has done NOTHING for this franchise yet...nothing!
It's become unconscionable. - BuffaloHardHat
Wow, you're hate for Murray is so over the top and love for Nolan so ridiculous. Since Nolan is such a great coach, what team will hire him as a Head Coach when he is let go? Didn't think you'd have an answer.......
Stating that Murray's job would be EASY and make him look like a "genius" if we are lucky enough to pick one of the two is baseless and ignorant. Providing the support and foundation to permit that talent to develop and align them with the right lineup and coach will be what he is judged on. This isn't concrete we're talking about here. |

Sabres definitely need to get McDavid. I would seriously start cheering for the Sabres except against certain teams in the East... And the Canucks.
I'd love to see peeps in southern Ontario convert to cheering for the Sabres...en masse - kaptaan

I didn't say he's in the long term rebuild but he plays better than many fans give him credit for. He'll probably get dealt sometime next year or at the deadline since he'll be a UFA. But right now, in my opinion, it's a plus that he might be out the remaining 4 games of the season. |

I have always thought Weber would be a perfect 5-6 guy who doesn't have to play against the top 6 of the other team. Great team guy who isn't terrible. I just don't think he can play in the top 4. |
