Well doesn't look like we are going to get any help tonight...9 sog for Colorado with less than 5 to play

Just waiting for a coilers jersey to hit the ice

- claygolf83

Help? We got to help ourselves bruva.

L.A.is taking care of their business to get through and we got to do the same. Got to win the next one, and one of the last two to put this to bed and go into the playoffs on a positive note.

Better to win the next two and rest a player or two on the last night of the season.

How'd Baertschi play?

Couldn't watch the game.

Noticeable or Unnoticeable?

Stops taking so many dumb penalties, he needs more time IMO.

I'd keep him in the minors to keep his stock up and trade him in a package for something better at the draft.

Hey Boys! How are things? Havent been here in a while, how is Vantel dealing with all this winning and going to the playoffs? Last I checked he was screaming for a scorched earth rebuild, yet you guys seem to be doing just fine.

One game? I thought he looked ok. Take it to the bank he won't be traded anytime soon.

Scooby was most likely referring to his looks so in this situation calling him Italian makes sense...

Parts of Italy and Switzerland are indistinguishable, the only way you know you left Italy is because you had slow down for a border crossing.

Q) How does an Italian get into an honest business?

A) Usually through the skylight.

It's been one game for us and 66 other games has it not? Simply put it this way, when he was traded everyone threw out articles about "where it went wrong" for baerstchi in calgary. I read just about all of them to find a glimmer of hope. All said just about the same thing. Takes bad penalties, gets benched, gets sent back down.

Now Hartley likes his players that play all 200 feet. So easy to say that they weren't just a good fit but WD is just about the same.

I usually agree with most of what you say, but.....

You can't be judging a kid who is playing his first game with a new team and the pressure. He was nervous yesterday . The team as a whole didn't play good.

I'll give the kid a season before I start saying if he is right or not

He only has 26 PIM in 67 career games. That's about one penalty every 5 games.

We don't need any young guys...old guys rule!!

Daniel is 9th in NHL scoring, and he has 17 goals, surpassing predictions! Plus Hank has 18 goals, never saw that coming....all at the age of 34.

Kidding of course, I'm pumped to get some kids into the fold!!!

Baerstchi is playing for a new team/coach/system which he had an hour to familiarize himself with. Way too early to judge him.

Maybe Kassian can mentor Baerstchi on playing a 200 ft game!

Which is funny because I'm usually the one so high on giving prospects all the time they need. Just watching him play previously on calgary and then yesterday's game. I just can't find qualities in his game that will translate into a top 6 NHL forward. Maybe in the east but in the west, I just can't see it.

he looked fine in the game. dumb penalties. but like you said first game.

Beart is not a bad prospect in any way at all. He was just stuck on a LW saturated team and didn't fit in the bottom 6 roles that he would have to play. I'd put him ahead of shinkaruk, and virtanen will need at least a yr. I do think a line with him and horvat would be fun to watch down the road.

Good anticipation, vision, decent skater, good shot, quick release.

put those two together with a solid 2way centre, could work. Which horvat could turn into.

beat it by one goal. I still think it was a pretty accurate prediction.

Yeah, I'm cool with 35 goals between then since they've probably produced 40+ for their linemates - Vrbata, Burrows, Hansen had a couple, Vey had 1 or 2 on the PP, etc.

Ughhh so sick of the Linden Vey love in. He should not be in the line up again until training camp! The only thing I've not liked about dejardins coaching this year. Continuing to rely on Vey to be an NHL caliber player when he so clearly is not ready.....# vets minuses costing us wins !
- Bullfrog77

I'm not as big on Vey either. There's some potential there but I see a lot of tire pumping going on. I'm not sure he finishes next season as a Canuck.

Except Raymond folds like a 2 dollar lawn chair in the dirty areas.
