What was your initial reaction to him being signed in the summer?

I'm not as big on Vey either. There's some potential there but I see a lot of tire pumping going on. I'm not sure he finishes next season as a Canuck.

Vey and Sbisa have had up and down seasons, Baerstchi falls into that category as well. Young players still finding their game on a veteran team. Too early to judge any of them.

To be quite honest 'if' we make the playoffs it really isn't going to matter who we play in the Queens or Flames. We can't deal with the Queens size and speed and I think the Flames with their superior hard work and conditioning would wear us down over a 7 game series. Plus you throw in Lack who is stepping into the 'reality zone' now with pretty inconsistent play and a few weak ones per game now even when he is playing half decent. I really appreciate how Lack has played down the stretch but it is really clear now that we can't be down 2-0 in EVERY playoff game in the first 5min if we make it in. We have no choice but to roll with Miller now plus he is the no 1 and that's why he is here.

Northern Italy, in the Alps is probably not much different from Switzerland, lifestyle wise. Probably more in common as far as day to day life that with the Romans, anyway.

The Celts went as far south as northern Italy. Rome was at war with these tribes. The Cultural difference was huge north to south.

Desire is one thing reality is another. Trying to be as realistic as possible but if you see negativity then that's life. I have also been very positive when need be as well.

Do I desire making the playoffs and a long run? Absolutely...realistically? Where do you think we'll be? If you are going to pounce on everyone's negativity here you'd be busy all day my friend.

Very true. Vey and Baertchi should be just fine in WD's system long term. Vey has shown positive signs and Baertchi does have massive upside if utilized properly. Looking forward to their roles next season.

Vey seems to play well against the Kings from what I've seen, I'm sure Baertchi will also have plenty of motivation against the Flames as well, so will Shinkaruk if he earns an opportunity.
