Regardless of 13 players or not. Saying Crosby is going to be a has-been?
13 players of which 7 have real value. Overpaymet, absolutely, but Its Crosby.

That's not a very nice looking list of prospects. Hell, Dalpe is 25 years old with 115 NHL games under his belt for 3 different teams.

Just stop. You're being "that guy."
What if we make that trade and Crosby get the AIDS? That seems the most likely from all-the-above. - 51_Killer
lol what
That made me laugh pretty good.
On a side note, I lived in Pittsburgh in 2010 and whenever people asked me what I was doing in Pittsburgh, I said I came there to date rape Sidney Crosby.
Apparently, they don't have a sense of humor down there or I have a really sick sense of humor. |

If it weren't for Patty Boy Kane getting injured, he would have won the Art Ross by a country mile.
IMO, Crisby is already on his way to being a "has-been". In this case, he is a "has-been" because he will probably not top 100pts in a season again. Christ, he's been healthy all year and isn't even pushing 90. |

Every year you hear these rumors about trading the #1 pick for some other teams top talent and for the most part it's just ridiculous. Kane for McDavid, Crosby for McDavid. Lets look at it this way, Crosby is like having a Ferrari. Pittsburgh got him ten years ago, put a lot of miles on it, won the big race, also lost the big race, its been dinged up a few times, broken more than once, and arguably reached its performance peak.
Now Buffalo may be getting their very own Ferrari (McEichel) fresh out of the factory. Why would Buffalo trade their brand new Ferrari for a used one that's probably already seen its best days? Yes, Pittsburgh's Ferrari is already broken in and ready to race next year, but nobody trades in a brand new Ferrari for one that's ten years old and has been in several accidents. |

Is this sarcasm? He is #1 in the NHL in points. Its not his fault scoring is down as a whole.
Also only player with over 100pts last year.... |

Okay but scoring across the entire league is down drastically this season. Proportionate to the league average Crosby is still having a heck of a season. |

My scenario may be completely out of whack and Pittsburgh would probably never get that much.
But calling Crosby a has-been, and saying he is already trending down because he doesnt have 100 points is alos out of whack.

Oh, but it is his fault. He is the face of the NHL and the poster boy. The NHL's golden boy.
I seem to remember Jagr putting up 120pts a season with no one even close not too long ago...It isn't so much about the amount of points, but the separation.
I hate this argument "but scoring is down!". Ovechkin is 1 point behind Crisby. This from a guy who has 52 goals and hardly ever passes before shooting. There is no reason for Crisby to be called the greatest player in the world and not have 90+ pts this season. Scoring is down, pah! |

Under no circumstances do I want 87 on the Sabres.

a 'has been' that's leading the league in points?
kane wining the art ross by a country mile was far from a given
its not about totals of the leaders. thats more of a reflection on the game.
its about the names at the top of the list.
and of course, hes right at the top |

Um. The top player this year would not even be top 20 in 2005-06. Its a league wide problem. |

Sorry but when everyone is still slobbing his knob, calling him the best player in the world, I expect to see it on the scoresheet. Alexander "Ineverpassthepuck" Ovechkin could very well win the scoring title this season. So, either Sid the kid has peaked, or he isn't the best player in the world by very much, if at all. |
