Its shocking how some people have under rated Larsson this season. Putting him as a winger in next years lineup. Putting him as a center on the 4th line. Trading him away. Trying to send him back to Rochester.
Larsson is the teams best possession player. Best defensive forward. And when hes on the ice, has one of the highest rates of goals for per minute played. He can slot up and down the lineup and play in any role. Hes a versatile two way player that when paired with talent can put up points. 12 points in 14 GP on the top line.
Am I suggesting that hes a top line center? No. But what I am suggesting is that he should be further up the depth chart than Grigorenko next year, and its really not close. I also posted my roster for next year barring any trade couple blogs ago, and I'd like to reinforce now more than ever that I dont think this team has to make any more trades for veteran centers (IE Ryan O'Reilly) heading into next season. With the emergence of Larsson's game developed for the NHL, lets keep what we have and push that into a growing season next year.
We should Fire Nolan though. |

I almost rented John Wick, but went with This Is Where I Leave You instead. It was very good. I really enjoy Justin Bateman movies apparently. - stashu
I thought this was one of the best movies I've seen in awhile.. Acting, writing, etc...
Loved it.
Edit: Watched A Most Violent Year last night and loved it. |

Its not that shocking. He didn t show anything at the NHL level until he was put on a top line with our best players.. |

how dare you... he is the anointed one.
I think he is a 3rd liner at best on a good team. we currently blow and he is one of the few bright spots so people focus. i don't see him show any high skill plays to prove that he can be a long term top 6 player |

Amen on this.... Those Sabre Canadian games were classics. You could count on fast skating beautiful hockey in the purest sense. Usually the winner had at least 5 goals..... That is what hockey is supposed to be. Not the boring, put you to sleep crap they play today... - rapperray
I remember one of the worwt playoffs ever was when the Freaking Habs beat us 3 times in 3 all in OT! Then went on to win the Cup! Talk about puck luck! |

I looked last night and didn't see anything. They did sign Cornel and Martin to "try-out contracts" though
Oh, and Schaller and Makarov were sent back down |

Yeah I think if anything he proved that he can be a versatile player that can move up the line up when injuries occur. I think when the dust settles, he ends up a really good third liner or a great 4th liner. Not really a knock on him. Its important to have versatile players like him in the org |

My parents let me watch Bo Derek's "10" on HBO when I was sixteen.

I'm still excited if we get STROME as our Center combo with Rienhart to fight it out for Number 1, I really like our depth and even though I'd be crushed if we didn't get McEchel, I wouldn't have the same excitement, but I still think its a VERY GOOD foundation and would believe Murray would work some magic.
I like our Defense
I like our Center Talent and Depth (Larson playing our 4th line center, killing penalties would be wow)
Reinhart
Gergensens
Strome
Larson

IMO they really need 2 d men, I think Z may go to rochester
1 pp running d man (sekera, green?)
1 steady d man (martin, petry?)
Up front, get a legit top 6 winger and figure out the coho situation
Fire Nolan
Keep the goalie coach
grab 2 big boys for the net
this is assuming we get pick 1 or 2 overall |
