If this is the year LA misses the playoffs, then justice has finally arrived to the league. The team is an abomination of this current setup, exploiting the loser point system so that they can have a 10 month off season only to exploit the nature of playoff hockey once they drift into the playoffs. I respect the Hawks for their entertaining style of hockey, and consistent level of compete. But if the Kings build a dynasty I think we are in for some dark days of boring hockey

Did this management group actually 'turn it around' or was Torts that destructive to an already decent veteran team?

Both I think. We really could have used Vrbata the last couple of seasons as well as having some of our drafted players show up like this for the bottom 6. It took way too long for Gillis' drafted players to make a contribution... almost a friggin decade.

If one of Richardson/Kassian are back by then I don't think he'll even play.

LA to me reminds me of New Jersey during the hey day of the dead puck era. Same idea (minus the clutch and grab), forwards who are mostly unremarkable but can score and a defense that has a Scott Neidemeyer type on it (Drew Doughty). Chicago on the other hand reminds me a lot of Colorado back in their hey day (minus Roy and Bourque)

Agreed.

That 9th overall pick in 2013 is contributing a little bit...

Interesting comparison. LA has some nice talent up front, I think Sutter's system hurts their offense. The only line who seems to get some offensive freedom is the Carter/Toffoli line.

I don't remember anyone on here when he was brought in having anything nice to say on that hiring. Big mistake. Locker room had a couple issues as well that were also purged.

Well let me remind you then.

When Torts was hired my exact words were... "he is an idiot". I got a big long lecture from Lefty... "stop looking at the past, give him a chance... only look forward".

Then miccah went on a rant about how I gave no coaches a chance ever which was totally fabricated. He even listed Crawford in there. A total fabrication. AV was the only coach I ever gave a hard time to as a Canuck... and even with Torts my initial comments in the summer were as far as I went. I quietly sat back and watched the train wreck people didnt see coming...lol.

Chompsey started up with his BS as well.

Truth is, the Gillis bandwagon was still alive when Torts was hired. Funny how a season later noone will admit they applauded the hiring.

I'm sure WD would bench Vey if that's the case.

And who else? That would be adding Sven and one of the injured guys so you'd have to scratch two guys from the LA lineup.

I don't think WD trusts guys like Sven/Kassian/Kenins yet. He was just starting to come around on Kassian before his back injury.

Who knows if those injured guys come back, if they're out then I can see Sven getting at least 1 game.

His bro posts at HF, both he and his bro seem like cool guys. Higgins bro told him that we all rip him for being in the 2nd line and PP and Higgins says he agrees with us.

The Sedins need a good forechecker with them and Sven also isn't much of a cycle the luck type of player.
