If the Kings and Pens both miss the playoffs, I will be very happy. What's even better is that I believe that neither still owns their 1st round pick this year.

Only downside to the Kings missing is Carolina coming out of this draft with two great prospects.

What a (frank)ing season:

*Voracek in the art Ross race

*giroux not far behind

*mason playing lights out

*Mark Streit's second assist of the game gave him 50 points on the 2014-15 season; the last Flyers defenseman to reach that milestone was Chris Pronger in 2009-10.

*two wins from the most wins at home since 2000-2001

*MISS THE PLAYOFFS

- funmaster18

The Kings would get a pass I think. They've played a ton of hockey the last 3 years. They will prob finish with 95 points, not great, but not awful either.
- PLindbergh31

Kings are going to miss the playoffs because they suck at the shootout.

Flyers West.

Are they really? I would think having Quick would be a good start at being solid in shootouts.

What a game last night...

Love watching Giroux score the way he did. The one timer was sweet, then that beautiful snipe was great too. I'm gonna say something now that might get me crucified by my internet peers.... Zac Rinaldo has played solid hockey the past few weeks... and I totally haven't minded him being out on the ice... He's been making smart defensive plays, he's handled the puck well, making smart passes... and he's playing with energy but doing it smartly. My conclusion on coots is he loses a lot of confidence when the puck hits his stick. When skating on defense, he looks cool calm and collected, as soon as he gets the puck, his whole demeanor changes and his skating looks shaky and his movements can look very forced sometimes. Overall he played well though. Vinny's assist on the PEB goal was a beauty too. Jaro halak probably feels like a (frank)ing idiot letting that goal in. Good for baby schenn.

Yeah, they're 2-8 in shootouts. Even worse than the Flyers 3-11 record.

Their SO shooting% is 14.3, last in the league.

Screw the Flyers. Go Sens.

Let's give them the 6-5 win to end the season. Jake with all our tallies. Sound fair?

3-11? Holy poop. I knew they were bad, I didn't think they had lost 11 out of 14 shooutouts this season.

They entered the season with an NHL worst .342 win % in shootouts. Amazingly, they have managed to make that embarrassing number even worse. And Berube made jokes after a practice how inept they are.

Amazing, the coaches change, the players change, and the results are always the same. They piss so many points away it's absurd. Granted, I don't like shootouts, but it's an NHL rule that isn't going to change anytime soon. The Flyers have to figure out a way to win more of these.

A blind pass through the middle of ice?

A more skilled player, I give the benefit of the doubt.

To Rinaldo, I say: "Nice play. Don't ever (frank)ing do it again."

Get TJ Oshie. He would have been good for at least another 6 -7 shootout wins.

Dude... the last few games I think he's actually played pretty decently. Made some good defensive plays, made some solid plays on the forcheck, nice centering pass to coliacovo last night. I've actually enjoyed watching him the past few games.

What do you think it would take to get Matt Duchene from Colorado? His speed and skill would be nice to add to the 2nd line with Couturier.

When it comes to Rinaldo, it's only a matter of time.

Isn't Giroux something like 1-12 in shootouts this year? With the type of skill he there is no reason he should be that bad. I really don't understand it. I think it's def more of an issue with the shooters. I would think the Flyers save % in shootouts would be around league average this year, their shooting % has to be in the bottom 3.

i'm pretty sure we'll see an extended OT which will include 3 on 3 in the next year or two which will significantly reduce the number of SOs and therefore eliminate their stupid (frank)ing problem. unless they go on to suck at 3 on 3 too, which, i'm sure they will.

Brayden Schenn can't help himself but score now. There's a couple of ways to look at it:

Glass half full: He's turning the corner and getting more offensive confidence that he'll carry into next year.

Glass half empty: He's been great ever since the games became meaningless.

Personally, I think the position change has helped. I think a new coach might help.
