Okay, can we get off the casual racism against races that aren't popularly discriminated against these days (and some that are)?
We're all a beautiful rainbow of humanity and deep down, we're all the same. - micah555
Can we say thank you , to a nation that gave us pizza , calzone, Sophie Loren , the Godfather , Lamborghini, wine and disco music, and my last Itallian girlfriend that gave me herpes. |

Because they are far better at hockey than we are?
I'm fine with these deals. I was pissed when we lost Ruutu and Torres. Keeping Dorsett is the smart move.
Sbisa isn't bad either. He's 25 and he's clearly doing what the coaches ask. I haven't seen him try to rush the puck passed 3 guys or do some ridiculous spin-o-rama to zero effect since like 30 games into the year. He'll grow under the coaching staff and he'll be a solid player.
Of course, when you make these deals, anything can happen. But they are reasonable prices for the current contributions and for future expectations. |

Italians made the pizza oven , my mistake. Are we allowed calling them Italians? Or should we say the Mediterranean Boot country? |

You have every right to question the decision, but "IMO" it needs to be tempered.
When posters are adamant that they have better insight into the inner workings of a complex financial structure of what players should be compensated is comical.
As my Cumberlandian friend said..."F*ck me, we just made the playoffs and I come here to find it's like some Real Housewives end of season freak out session!!" - Makita
I think its been pretty tame, its not like anybody is saying Benning is an idiot but some of think it was a bad contract, some a good contract. Next season one group will hold it over the other, next season Rinse and repeat.
You say its comical that people are adament about how players are being compensated, are you referring to only those who don't like it or does that apply to both groups?
I dislike the sentiment that disagreeing with Benning or whomever is acting like a know it all.
Regardless I think we all are pumped about playoffs and I'm sure there will plenty of time to debate the contracts in the future. This board has many contributes who are willing to eat a little crow when the time comes.( much respect to Vantel regarding the sedins) |

I think if the deals had been spaced out they would be more palatable. For a 4th line character guy it seems a bit high, that said he brings a lot to the table. And with Sbisa the hope is he continues to improve, but personally as of right now I think he should be making less than Dorsett. The concern I think is the number of players we have left to sign as well as the precedent for upcoming contract negotiations |

Nail on the head here. I don't think anybody is threatening to jump ship, it's just healthy discussion about a move that took many by surprise. If I'm wrong about Sbisa then I will gladly eat crow. As Vantel said being right is less important than team success |

Vey Sbisa, Kassian, Bieksa have been board whipping boys all season. That's what we do, however the young guys need to continue to improve. |
