I wouldn't go that far. Sbisa's ceiling is still high. He is just a kid still. Best skater on the team. Emphasis on skating is huge in the league. Based on that alone some would say he is worth it. He can only get better.

Being big and fast doesn't earn you 3.6 million. The guy is a bottom caliber pairing dman. This is a horrible contract.

Hey, I'm the guy who's been saying play the youngsters at all costs, but as Lefty has pointed out, that's not the canucks plan.

They want to be competitive every season and build through the draft. So that generally means no trading picks. UFA market is crazy so that's obviously a no.

So a team has to keep the players they have. They both got UFA money. JB obviously wants to take his time to restructure this team and this is the safe way to do it.

I was kind of hoping he would walk this year and we would go after an offensive d man. He has doesn't have a no trade clause so idk he may be traded for a pick in the summer.
