Let's review the whole body of work:
Tanev 5yr $4.45m per
Dorsett 4yr $2.65m per
Sbisa 3yr $3.6m per
Miller 4yr $6m per
Vrbata 2yr $5m per
That's $21.7m added per season. What's the cap projected to be next season? |

We don't have 4 th liners we have 2 x third lines.
Prust Ott Neal all make that type of coin. He is one of the best 4 th liners in the league. He brings so much more than just fighting
Sbisa , I have been on his side all year glad to see him locked up also even at 3+ mil per. - VANTEL
I said the same about the Miller contract and I will say the same of them. I don't like the money spent on them but I like them and their game. Good to get them under contract. |

I'd like to hear what the Tanev got overpaid crowd thinks about these deals. - Nucker101
If they overpaid Tanev then they can overpay Pizza Boy.
I look at it as 3 young Dmen locked up for at least 4 years, you guys need to do less complaining.
3 of your top 6 Dmen secured for 13.2 mil per is a hell of a deal. I know all the GMs on here are appalled but their is a real NHL GM who lives the game that thinks this is a good deal.
Congrats Benning |

Sbisa is about 2.6 million too much...the guy is a physical 6/7 dman who can skate.
Stanton at 1M or Sbisa as 3.6? - Nucker101
How you compare Sbisa and Stanton continually baffles me. Stanton is by far the worst player on the team and should be behind Biega, Corrado and clendenning on the death chart. Sbisa is a fine No6 with room for continued growth. |

Apperently Dorsett is our 5th highest paid forward. - pker2theend

I would put Sbisa ahead of Bieksa and Weber too. I think Sbisa is paired with KB to help KBs game much like they tried to protect him with Edler and Hamhuis. Bieksa is a mistake machine and Sbisa brings the same game of what they hoped Bieksa would only one mil cheaper. See ya Kev |

When everyone was injured he was our #2 D and he played great. IF it wasn't for him stepping up when needed we would be on the outside looking in. Comparing him to Stanton is a joke. He handled top minutes like a boss. Stanton never could. |

Agreed.
Half our D core secured for 4 years , young and skilled. I have no idea why everyone is bittching |

I still can't believe the hate you guys have for Stanton. He's not a top pairing d-man and never will be. He's a perfect 6/7 who's quite reliable compared to many bottom pairing dmen in the league at a solid cap hit.

Cap Projected @71.5m
Dorsett 2yr/2m....20% raise 4th line energy
Sbisa 3yr/2.4m....small raise for a 4-5 D man
Matthias 3yr/2.2m...35% raise for a 3 liner
Vrbata 2yr/4.5....small Canuck discount
Miller wait n see
I expext JB to be selective not hand out big bonuses |

Agreed. Sbisa is our only young physical dman. Bieksa try's to play physical but he can't do this t anymore. He takes the worst of 50% of the checks he has initiated this year. I think we call all agree Beiksas days are numbered so without Sbisa who will take the body? Edler? Hamhuis? That is a shockingly soft D especially come playoff time when the whistles disappear |

I don't think anyone hates him. We just have better options for our 6/7 defenseman. |

That is why Dorsett is a big signing. If Kassian returns then I feel confident about team toughness especially with Hank as the team instigator now |

Bieksa should be moved in the offseason (maybe for a second?) and Sbisa's AAV is $1 million less. |

I think he is the odd man out. He has an offensive upside but at times he is a major liability. |

Yeah. He deserves to aswell. Play has slipped these last couple years but he has a very good player for this team and person to this city. |
