Bill,
Could this be the year where maybe you move this years two 1st and 2016 1st for to get to number 2? Is that too much if it allowed to get Eichel, assuming number 1 takes McDavid. - J35Bacher
But if they lose the lottery Buffalo or Arizona really need Eichel as a 1C to build around. I doubt they'd be interested. Maybe if you swapped a position player for the 2016 1st since I doubt that would be a lottery pick if the Flyers had Eichel for 15-16. |

As much as I'd be happy they'd have Eichel, I really don't think I'd do that... you're giving up three potentially good players for one. That's throwing all of your eggs into one basket. I'd rather them have 3 possibly equal, or maybe even better players than one. If two of the 3 turn out to be busts, and one matches Eichel's production, you still "win". If all 3 turn out to be solid, you still win.
It's just awful risky, is all I'm saying. |

Mighty steep, but intriguing. - bmeltzer
I know it's steep. My thinking is this:
If Eichel and McDavid are that good then you have a potential franchise player. Also if they make your team better, your likely to have later round picks.
Also I know you want picks to build around but picks as is are hit and miss. This might be the chance to get a almost sure thing as there is.

I know it's risky. But it also has the chance to turn the franchise around. You can also use other roster players to get other assets to reshape the team.
Also if Eichel and McDavid turn out to be the franchise players they are reported to be, then they should also to be able to make players around them better.
I also wouldn't be against using the two 1st rounders to get Strome or maybe a 1st and Simmonds to move up. |

Yeah.
I just think this might be your draft to maybe make that deal.

I agree. Given the hype, it's very doubtful that either teams trades a potential franchise player. The only consideration would be significant young talent already in the NHL. Flyers #1, Sean Couturier and Wayne Simmonds might entice someone. |

I would offer both 2015 1st and Simmonds or both 2015 1st and 2016 1st.
But only if it got me one of the top 2. It might be tough but it could be intriguing to AZ as I think they need multiple assets. |

Obviously we're just guessing, but I think they'd want more. Let's say the Flyers pick 8th. I think they'd want a Dman, winger and center combination out of our pick and players. |

i think AZ needs that one star to hype around more than anything.
it doesnt seem it, but they do have a nice pile of assets on the way. |

They probably do.
I am just curious how long they actually stay in AZ. Also I wonder if someone like Eichel will eventually leave once his first deal is up. I wonder if his agent would push to get him to a better and bigger market. Not saying they would but I might if I was the agent |

I know right? That's the type of girl right there.... I'd be too scared to break something as pretty as her by putting my filthy hands on that fine piece. |

If only the Flyers could have racked up the points on my those bottom feeders in the league instead of losing. They could have been potentially riding a very hot Mason into the post season. And from there who knows?

I don't know who it is. I have a hunch, and that's all it is, that the player is Dylan Strome or Ivan Provorov. What I do know for sure is that the Flyers will at least make pitches to move up if they don't win the McDavid lottery. - bmeltzer
I could certainly see that happening. Last year, Hexy was apparently very aggressive in trying to get Ekblad (and with his play this year, looks like there was a reason for it). I think Hexy's strategy should be to win the lottery, draft McDavid and then flip a young player and the other 1st for an impact dman. |

Good for Mason! At least he's getting rewarded off of the ice - funmaster18
Yep.. looks like Mase is doing well for himself off the ice.. He just needs to be careful while playing ball hockey this summer. Hang with your woman and staff off the concrete in the rinks.. too hard on the knees hips etc.. I know! |

It's been said that Eddie Van Halen was "angry" during the Fair Warning sessions and you can hear it in his playing. It's why that album is so great.

I think the Flyers may try to package their two number ones -- one of which will be a top-10 pick -- as a means of moving up to draft a coveted player whom they consider a potential major impact player at his position (apart from McDavid and Eichel). - bmeltzer
What makes you say that, just a gut feeling or rumors swirling around practices and games? |

Rumors they want to move up with a specific target in mind (although I don't know who that target is).
