if Flyers got the first pick, would they trade it? No. So why would anyone else?

It makes no sense that a 24 yoa offensive defenseman could improve that part of his game?
- Just5

Didn't say he couldn't improve that area of his game. That is quite different from "not missing a beat" like you said earlier.

It's possible. Nothing would preclude them from signing a veteran UFA as a stopgap. A Visnovsky type, etc.
- Just5

Then it makes even less sense to trade Streit.

go right ahead. but i wouldn't trade the 1st or 2nd if I had it and I wouldn't trade for the 1st or 2nd if I didn't. Unless I had the 3rd...

Depending on how next season goes, it might be worth exploring at the TDL.
- BulliesPhan87

Yeah, I just can't see Hextall moving Streit till the 2016 trade deadline at the earliest. He will want to give next year's team a decent chance of making the playoffs, and if they perform poorly again then Streit will be on the block for a 1st+ just like Coburn was this year.

Manning

Mason
Zepp

Umberger, Lecavalier, Rinaldo, Grossmann, Emery out? Stewart added?

For the record I still really like Grossmann and Emery but I understand their shortcomings. Is this line up enough this? What would you change?

- SuperSchennBros

No interest in Stewart. Vinny I think gets moved, but Umberger will be back. Zepp should stay in the AHL and a younger backup goalie with upside should be signed. Couturier and BSchenn should stay together. Manning sounds like he's going to become a FA and go elsewhere, which is fine because Morin or Ghost could make the team or they could re-sign Colaiacovo to be the #7.

That's true, but unfortunately, the wins and losses matter to the national media. If you post those numbers, while playing on a top team, you get the notoriety. I've often said that national media can't watch every game. They analyze from afar. If they watched Mason game in and game out, there would be a different vibe about him.
- MJL

Ok. But there's been no ripping of Giroux or voracek from the national media

i don't want Manning going anywhere. He's solid organizational depth, even as first call up or #7. We spent the time developing him. Seems like a waste to let him walk. I doubt he gets more elsewhere.

Rumors they want to move up with a specific target in mind (although I don't know who that target is).

I hope Simmonds catches wind that you guys think badly of his buddy.

PS We shouldn't have traded Hartnell.

I think the Flyers may try to package their two number ones -- one of which will be a top-10 pick -- as a means of moving up to draft a coveted player whom they consider a potential major impact player at his position (apart from McDavid and Eichel).

Broad Street Hockey was highly critical of Mason and his extension, and they ran a "We (frank)ed up" piece. James Mirtle tweeted a couple days ago that Mason deserves Vezina consideration
- Jsaquella

wow. shocked to all get out.

i love being right about mason. and i normally don't care about that kind of thing.

no he's not.

"The Group 6 unrestricted free agent to-be would like to stay in the organization and the Flyers would like to keep him, too."

If you guys were to fill out your bracket, who are you guys hoping gets to the Final?

I'm hoping for an early exit for Tampa for the same reasons as any. I really hate the Rangers but I'm also hoping the Habs and Pens go nowhere.

I suppose I'm hoping for a Capitals/Hawks Final.

Marner or Strome. I doubt they would be looking to give away assets for Hanifin when Provorov and Werenski are right there.
