Habs fans are among the worst. That playoff series we had against them in 2010(it was 2010 I think) was brutal.

I agree. Can't stand them

Wait so why are we rooting for the Caps over Boston tonight? Wouldn't it be better for Boston to win and put the Pens in a bind?

Marner or Strome. I doubt they would be looking to give away assets for Hanifin when Provorov and Werenski are right there.

Hanifin is getting underrated going into this draft. Besides the offense he brings, he is a terrific skater, great at using his body to separate players from pucks(not always checking, but using body position), has a solid gap, and is great in transition. While Werenski and Provorov have a bit more flash, I still think Hanifin is the best defenseman in this draft

Following Sanheim the best i could this season this kid Jake Bean caught my eye putting up some impressive stats for a 16 year old defenseman.

How good is this guy supposed to be? Any hype around him, or just came out of nowhere?

Yes he's getting plenty and could be a name to watch for the 2016 draft.

Bill,

Could this be the year where maybe you move this years two 1st and 2016 1st for to get to number 2? Is that too much if it allowed to get Eichel, assuming number 1 takes McDavid.

- J35Bacher

Im only doing that if said player is ready this year....Is Eichel for sure NHL ready or willing to come out of school for the NHL?

Yeah, thanks for that. 27/30/57 for Hartsy.... Umberger has 9/6/15.....good trade that was. How is your GM not being crucified for that trade?
- vertigo1061

Because this team as it's constructed isnt good enough for a cup run. RJ and a 4th was the best the Flyers could get for a team
Hartnell wouldn't block. The trade was for a shorter term contract. Kudos to Hartnell for a solid season.

It's not even a possibility. If it was Arizona or Carolina or Edmonton would be making those moves. They all have three 1sts over this year and next and all stand to be higher picks than ours.

Also given the points race we can pretty much confirm at this point that the 2nd pick is going to Buffalo or Arizona. Neither of those teams really have any reason to pass over a franchise Center for bulk picks.

I definitely think Hartnell fits in perfectly with CBJ and that's part of why he's having a good year. His style really suits the way we play. And to think he's playing on a line with two rookies.

Well common sense would say that Hexy saw that Flyers weren't going to have the players to really go for a cup this season given the sad state of our defense so he made a move that will benefit us when the 4 prospects start showing up.

He's a good player, and has been for awhile. I think the Flyers were hoping for more from Umberger, but the biggest key was getting a deal two years shorter.

At least I hope that was the biggest key, because otherwise it's an awful trade

It was an awful trade. It's pretty much the only move Hexy has made that was bad. Everything else has been good

But they aren't necessarily interested in moving up or giving that much to move up. It's a pipe dream but a pipe dream that is oh so slightly more possible than other pipe dreams of the past. Hextall made a move for the first pick last year and there are already rumors of them wanting to move up this year. Just let us have this

Yeah, I've said many times just think the Flyers should've held out for more draft compensation. Especially possibly knowing he was injured.

Ya it won't look like an even trade until the last couple years of hartnell's deal. You definitely got the better part of it initially. I just think we could've gotten a bit more out of you guys, even though Hartnell was coming off a bad year.

Bar anything crazy happening the 2nd pick in the draft is going to Arizona or Buffalo. If you can come up with a trade that they'll be interested in that also bests what anyone else can do(while not blowing the current squad up) then I'm all ears.

You're talking about something like Simmonds, Coots and 7th overall. And that might not even get it done.

3 1sts and a roster player is probably more than another team would offer. And there is a 66.5% chance that one of those teams is getting pushed to the 3rd pick.

Carolina and Edmonton need a ton of help especially with depth, I bet they would be willing partners with the Flyers especially if you threw in a roster player.

It seemed like they were so eager to move Hartnell. I just don't understand it.

The move worries me a bit because an advanced stat guy would have nixed that deal in a heartbeat if he had any say in the matter.
