The Coyotes act all pissed off when they get scored on, they have done their homework very well, you have to give them credit the team has embraced being bad much better than Buffalo, credit to the Coyotes coaching staff. - MikeyOz
Oh come on people cant really believe this do they? |

Still can't believe Washington traded Forseberg for him.
Imagine the Caps forwards group if they still had Forseberg! |

That's tough...
I couldn't believe the Gomez trade either. Not BC of what they have up, but what the hell did they want that contract for? At the time, McDonough wasn't thought to be the Norris candidate he turned into though.
Equally baffling deals IMO |

NHL.com still has gems like this:

Kyle OHowe Not a chance Edmonton takes Hanifin over Strome. Strome will play 1 more year in OHL and then spend a brief time in the AHL before going to the NHL. Hanifin is probably 3 to 4 years away from the NHL and Edmonton has quite a few defensemen prospects that just need experience. Edmonton can start picking a few d-men from the second round on.
The whole quote is pretty funny but the underlined |

I would just love a team like Ottawa, Colorado or Edmonton ended up with the first pick! Would upset all those teams that have tanked! Imagine if the Penguins didn't make the playoffs, its conceivable that the Oilers could then pick 1 and 4!!!!!!! |

Wow... Where to start? Haha
Hanifin is going #3 to the oilers, no doubt. And he & Nurse will make their defense better in a hurry. Although if they did wanna send him to the AHL for a year it wouldn't kill him. But he is ready. These ppl that think ALL defensemen take years to develop are just plain wrong. In general, sure... But not when they're this good.
Strome is going 4th to the Leafs, and they should be thrilled. He's prob ready as well, but bringing him along slowly will only benefit him in the long run. Toronto is a mess right now, he doesn't need to be a part of that right away.
Marner goes 5th to Carolina, they don't take defensemen high (although they should consider Provorov & Werenski)...
I actually can't remember the top5 picks ever being in such a definite order. I'd be very, very surprised if the order switches up at all. |

I think a lot of people think the only way it will change depends on who wins the lottery? If buffalo picks 3rd for example, there's a chance they won't pick hanifin? |

I think one of the worst side effects of picking 3rd is how the players who stay will be stuck with a toxic fan base. Some fans will never forgive. Now I do not blame the players for doing their job. But Nolan does need to understand the spot he'd be leaving these guys in. By not playing Hackett he is giving the sabres a better chance to win, and these players (the ones staying) a more likely chance to be in sports hell. If he cared about these guys he would at least give them higher odds to lose and let the chips fall where they may. |
