I'm #1 on the Eddie Lack band wagon, was all for going this season with Lack as the starter, but this is a what have you done for me lately mentality, and I think that the coaching staff are not as short sighted as this. I guess we'll see. |

You are looking at it the wrong way. For the next 3 years Sbisa Edler and Tanev are locked up for 13.2 mil.
We could have gone for Edler Green and Franson for 20 mil instead but we didn't.
You can call Sbisa anything you want are dislike him as much as you want but he was our 4 th best Dman this year, and was a very big reason when Bieksa Hamhuis and Tanev were out of the line up , he stepped in and played big. - VANTEL
I was thinking this the other day... While Calgary is getting alot of attention for what they have done this year ( and deservedly so ) nobody really paid any attention to Vancouver when those guys went down and the core + call ups ( Clendening etc ) just rolled.
That would have been the point in the season where it could have easily fell apart and picking in the top 10 again. |

I think because everyone was predicting the flames to be a lotto team for sure and Van was predicted by most to either just miss or sneak in
Flames are the bigger surprise which equals more attention

There were a couple games where Sbisa was playing the most minutes.Right now i think he is averaging over 18 minutes a game. For all of everyones whining about him he handled those minutes alright. Stanton, Clendening Weber, Biega, Corrado I guarantee none of them could handle those minutes nearly as well. |

Yup, fair enough. And as the season went on a lot of people stopped writing the Canucks off, but everyone predicted that the Flames would burn out. Not only are both teams in, but they aren't even wild card teams. If you guys wanted to come down to earth now though, that would be great.

Both went from total bottom feeders to legit contenders. |

I thought once gio went down It was over ....I actually wasn't shocked than the canucks played well with their injuries ...they have don't that before ...I was however thinking once the injured guys came back in might cause a losing streak ...wrong again |

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here
I would still say every other team in the west playoffs are more of a contender than our teams |

Then you're undervaluing your team. Anyone of the other teams would not like to meet up with either of us in the second round. At this point its a new season. Teams have to prove they can take it to the next level of play. |

If we look at the Luongo and Kesler trade situation as being similar, don’t you think it’s interesting that JB makes it a priority to re-sign a player acquired through one of his first big trades (some said Sbisa was a throw-in) rather than a player acquired through the previous GM’s big trade?
Why is Sbisa a priority and not Matthias? Is this a case of a GM validating his own trade?
I'm just stirring the pot here… - bloatedmosquito
Do you actually believe that Benning would sign a player to help justify his own trade? If so, ou have a very low opinion of him and I don't share it. Sbisa and Dorsett bring something that Mattias doesn't. How many of you have been complaining about this team being to soft year after year? We resign our two most phsical players and there is still endless complaining. Bravo Trader Gim |

Enough of the accolades. Time to get serious. I hate everything orange, or red, or whatever colour those idiots from Calgary wear. |

It's more that they are paying 2.65 for a 4th line RW and 3.6 for a 5/6 D. Seems just a bit much even if they can bring some physicality. |

Canucks are playing with fire for home ice advantage starting Miller. Sounds like WPG is starting Hellebuyck against CAL. I know people are gonna jump on me, but I just think it's stupid to come out and say right after last night's game that Miller is starting Saturday. With the CAL-WPG game starting at noon, say Miller is a game time decision. That way, if CAL hands it to WPG, you can go back to Lack without looking like a clown. |
