IF Atkinson doesn't score on that amazing shot "Top Shelf Where Momma Hides the Cookies!" I really think NOLAN plays a total Trap for the remaining of the game and we slip into OT gaining a point and getting lucky on the Shootout Winning.
I am sure NOLAN is a VERY unhappy man right now, and ya know what, For all the Buffalo Hearts that work out ASS off, (Risto Favorite Quote of All Time") Work on jobs, scrap our windows, shovel our neighbors driveway because we are BUFFALO!
He can take his GIFT job of coaching in the NHL for the first time in over 15 years, for 2 years! Not to mention the MILLIONS of dollars you get to roll around in when you desperately tried with your every fiber of being and deflate the heart & soul of the BUFFALO SABRES faithful, but alas, it didn't happen and you are now DISMISSED! |

Anyone think that Murray likes McDavid enough to try to trade up to #1 from #2? What would it take? - Pierceme69
Too much. Likely Reinhart 2nd overall pick and Risto |

That would just be a bad move. Murray has said that he really thinks there is about 19 players of high quality in this draft. The NYI pick will be somewhere around 22-25 if they lose in the first two rounds. There may very well be one of those 19 players available by the time we pick again. At the very least he should use a 2nd round pick to move us back into the late teens to so as to grab another quality prospect. |

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but worth noting -- Columbus sealed win with 9.7 seconds left on clock. McDavid's number. |

I was MFing that very logic the moment the 2nd period ended. He's been doing that all year as if getting a loser point actually helped our situation. That's my biggest beef with him this year is, rather than trying to play all out and score more goals say in the third to win, he'd rather trap the puck and force OT to get a point as if it was going to help us get the 8th seed or something.
When you're the worst team, loser points mean nothing, so why not just play all out and just try to win, unless you're trying to derail the tank |

Why are you surprised? This has happened the whole year. Why I said we will be a bottom 3 team next year. We are putrid. Advance stats say we should Prob have 10 less wins. Those stats will catch up to us next year and we will suck if we miss out on mcheichel - Fattony1187

Personally I disagree. Murray has done so much already to stack up on prospects and now he'll have the jewel in his crown. The team now needs some NHL players to round out the roster so we can start competing again. |

No need to rush. Most of our long term core players are under 21. 17 more wins next year (we only have 22 this year) would still be a bottom ten team this year. Let's make sure we develop everyone properly. If it takes an extra year to do it right we should

Nope sorry it's rush time. Or win now a more proper term. I expecpt McEichel and Reinhart to be on team and we'll make fa additions. |

Reinhart and eichel will still be rookies. we aren't gonna make the playoffs. This team was really realky bad this year. We still have a ways. we will win more and get there eventually. Rushing prospects never works out

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
Very young team with growing pains yet to come. They'll be much better but i wouldn't count on the playoffs.
The list of "big names" available this summer doesn't look too promising either. |

wait, you guys have clinched last?
with a win tomorrow and an Arizona loss, wouldn't that put you tied in wins (the first tiebreaker), but youd have more points head to head (the second tie breaker) giving them last?
maybe im confused |

Agreed. I could see 10 more points with the addtion of the young D-men and the kids playing now, plus the return of Girgs and McEchiel, but playoffs is beyond wishful thinking. Now finishing in the low 20's would be a more realistic approach for a ceiling |

We have fewer regulation wins, the tiebreaker of tiebreakers so 30th is locked |
