It's nice to know that the one topic everyone has been arguing about for a year can finally be dropped for good. Without even knowing what else TM might do to improve the team in the offseason, just the amount of excitement for the 15-16 sabres makes today all the better. |

I can see TM making a big move at the draft. Would not be surprised to see package of the 2nd of the 1st round picks and maybe a young defenseman being shipped off for an established center. Would allow Reinhardt/McEichel to develop and take some of the pressure off them. But biggest move will be hiring a coach to develop winning culture and one who will attract FA. Might be that Babcock could be persuaded to come here now that generational talent will be on roster. Only thing that might change that would be if Leafs get #1 pick and Shanahan. |

Can't see a deal for another center before RW is addressed.
And I'm not sure TM goes big name for next coach. |

If you read what's out there, and there are some "reputable" names claiming this, Luke Richardson as the next Sabres head coach sounds like the worst kept secret in hockey right now. |

Same here. If we didn't get a top 2 I was probably going to drop them. I just can't continue to sell at half price. Can't see that being a problem anymore. |

Puppa's doomsday warning were coming true but then they didn't.
89 still missing, I think
Eichel plays in finals tonight while probably a little worried about the 20% chance he joins the Coyotes next year. |

Some notes collected while back reading last nights comments.
(in South Beach then off to Key West to celebrate my wife's 50th)
IF/When Nolan Isis replaced, that means Hodgson gets another chance ... Would love to see him put on a top line to finally see what he has, or not. How sweet would it be if he reclaimed his scoring touch as a RW-er!
Hoping that Grigy recommitts himself like he did this past offseason again. He needs to get stronger/more explosive on his skates...if he finds his game, damn that would be the icing on the cake.
I'm glad that Gionta is our Captain for now...he shows leadership through example. As tough as it was the last 10 games watching him find the net so frequently..it bodes well for his play next year...he won't be a boat anchor.
Reinhart needs to develop properly in Rochester next year...hopefully he is joined. Y some additional youngins so he can build chemistry with them.
I'm torn between grabbing a D or RW with the. 2nd 1st rounder. Ennis has proved to be a top 6 winger and we have him locked up....wouldn't mind GMTM going after a offensively gifter D-man...maybe moving up to do so.
I am so happy this team tanked properly....I'm so excited I can't contain myself!
GO SABRES. / GO BILLS!!! |

Beating the pens will cost them a playoff spot. But losing might screw Boston. It's a win/win scenario. |

Today is a great day. Lets end it with a Win
Cant wait for the obvious McEichel, Nolan to be fired, and to never have to see Weber, Mezz, Strachan, Dalpe, Benoit, Kaleta, Varone play for the Sabres again. I know 1-2 of those guys will still be around but hopefully not as starters |

Most of the prospects were here from the drafting of Kevin Devine (Darcy admitted that the picks after round 1 were mostly Devine) plus Devine was instrumental about Zadorov.
However name me a top 6 forward that Darcy traded for in the last 7 seasons...
Like you said earlier 2 seasons starting now is when we will see if Murray is a good GM. He broke down Team Darcy now he is building his own team. Time will tell. I am just glad this season is almost over and there will be a franchise player to build around come draft day. |

The offer sheet it would take to get Tarasenko would be the next 3 drafts...
Gotta round out the D and RW still but the sound of a Kane McEichel Tarasenko line makes me giddy |

He raises an interesting point, even if he is just trying to stir the pot. Murray's overpaid in two trades so far. It's nice to see a GM with some balls, but if this team fails, that's on him.
But it won't because we'll have JACK (frank)IN EICHEL OR CONNOR (frank)IN MCDAVID female dogES!!!! |
