Oh crap... will be suddenly be subject to daily Brian Burke-isms? - Beatle_john
I am hoping for Burkie to go full Gillies on the refs in post game comments. We will need to be in the good books of this "game management" theory in order to make any impact this playoffs. |

I'm so pumped that the Kings are out. The series against the Flames is a good one. Both sides will be convinced they can win it. In the last few years, we've completely owned them, but they've shown up a couple times this year. It's going to be a great series and the travel will be as good as it gets for us (which will help if we do win... which we will). |

Somebody posted on Twitter yesterday that Burkie was on Wikipedia changing the definition of Sedin in Swedish. |

If Miller has a weak game against oilers the net should be Lacks for playoffs, plus lack does solid against Calgary |

I still think Lack starts Game 1, albeit with a short leash. |

I can't wait for Dorsett to anally mutilate Gaudreau this series - it'll be fun to watch!
Canucks in 3 - it'll be that much of a whooping!!! - chompsey

we have 2 more wins and 1 game left. how do we not have the tiebreaker?
Vancouver 81 47 29 5 99
Calgary 81 45 29 7 97 - Retinalz
ROW - Total number of Regulation plus Overtime Wins (used in 2nd tiebreaker at right)

The difficulty comes from a scenario where he plays well vs Edm...who to start then?

Rhetorical question of the day...why do reporters discuss past season's records as if they hold any relevance to the team that is playing today?
Why pretend it matters what the Canucks playoff record going back 3 years is?? Different coach, different players, different opponents to say nothing of the somewhat random nature of sports in general.
I've never understood that one. |

Then we look at the level of competition. We do a fancy stat analysis to figure the quality of shots faced vs sv%. After that we look at the offense generated when goalies are in net (gf based on goalie) after we exhaust all of the analytics we pick the goalie that was signed and brought in to stabilize our crease. You know the one that we signed for 6mill per for 3yrs with NTC. Yup that one.
Unless Miller is not 100% he will start but will have a very short leash. |

It makes them sound important and look relevant.
Edit just read it was a rhetorical question. |

Agreed.
I can see this playing out poorly (depending on Miller's rust), especially given WD's admission that he is a loyal guy. I can imagine Miller starting, getting pulled at some stage, Lack playing well and WD returning to Miller again out of loyalty. |

When are they doing the lottery draw? I heard it's in April sometime but not sure if correct or not. |

Exactly, it makes no sense but they need something to babble on about, it's how they justify their jobs. |

The interwebs tell me that the date of the draft lottery is still TBD. |

*Pool Update*
Last call for anyone that wants to get in the Play-Off pool (we currently have about 17 people).
We now need to figure out the type of draft/format (Nucker and I) will discuss what is most feasible but yet challenging) and will outline in the main board (sorry to the rest of you for taking up the time and space - I promise we will try and resolve asap).
We'll probably use Office Pools (which I believe costs $25 but I can put up the cash (and reimbursed accordingly) - still not sure if we'll have this as a money pool or for free. I'll talk to Nucker about that as well. I figure Tuesday morning should be the cut-off date in getting all the rosters.
Cheers |
