He probably would be better off playing on a line with Geno, as a winger. He can score a bit while Kunitz has lost it.

This team is so bad Sutter has been one of our best players over the last month.

If we're going to talk about trading Malkin.....which I know they won't do, but a player I would love in a Pens jersey is Backes. If the Blues go out early again I could see them dumping hitchCock and shaking up the roster.

I realize Letang is a key cog to the Pens and him being lost for the season is huge however I have watched enough hockey to know that a hot goalie can carry a team all the way to the Cup. My point is that anything can happen and will root till the end...

Yeah basally how I am. Who knows what will happen. Maybe we get in and make some call ups and that will give us a little boost. Our defense and most of our guys are just dead. Either way win or lose I'm looking forward to the off season and next year.

Shero was a good GM most of his tenure, drafts aside, but the assets he gave up that deadline and the contracts he gave out in the off season crippled this team. In just a few months traded Murray for 2 2nds, former 1st Morrow for B. Morrow both well past prime. Then signs Scuderi, Dupuis, and Kunitz to deals in mid 30s.

im with you...i just enjoy the conversation. can we hire Shero as a consultant to pull off that trade though?

said that at the very beginning ...Backes is the competent 2nd line center and I would really want Tarasenko back as well. People can harp about how many goals he has but hes not yet at Malkins level. otherwise, you add shwartz/oshie/steen+fabbri/rattie+picks

Jets are another team with some good spread out offensive depth. Little/Ladd/Wheeler/Byfuglein/Lowry...age would be an issue though. For me the idea of trading Malkin means being competitive for the next 8 years, not 3.
