I actually like Scott Wilson's game. - Oneonta Penguin
Me too, I actually am really on board with trying him in a top 6 role next season. My only worry right now is he's still a rookie that hasn't played a full NHL game, let alone a playoff game |

Even if we don't win, I hope we take a big chunk out of them. |

I wouldn't be against trying it at the start of next season. I don't think I'd call Wilson up for these playoffs though - Id_Puck_Me
Don't get me wrong, Wilson is a hail mary, but we might need it. Hopefully they have a plan for off season to address that hole.
Injecting some youth wouldn't hurt about now and Wilson seems to be the guy playing the best.

I think thats the best a Pens 44 jersey has looked in a few years....I would have no problem with him playing in the playoffs. I would actually take him over Scuds at this point. I hope DP/Hoff get healthy, if not, bring up Doums.
You will see Adams benched for the playoffs too, Pens were down skaters and Crosby got double shifted over letting Adams out there for a few shifts, thats the one thing I will give MJ, he doesnt play Adams. |

I feel like the Penguins have a pretty big bankful of puckluck (like, 3 months worth) to unleash on the Rangers. The kind of puckluck they didn't have in games 4-7 last year. |

I do certainly agree we need more youth. Who knows, if we're lucky maybe he'd end up being our Mark Stone! |

I'm for playing Downie with Sid, at least he has some hands. Might even try Bennett over Winnik, but Downie is my choice.
Play Comeau with Sutter or replace Kunitz.
I'd bench Spaling just to get a younger, hungry guy in. Don't hate Spaling, he just doesn't do much.
No idea which defensemen are available, but Chorney has been better than a lot of guys.
Taking a stab
Downie-Crosby-Hornqvist
Perron-Malkin-Comeau
Kunitz-Sutter-Bennett
Wilson-Laperriere-Winnik
Martin-Ehrhoff
Cole-Lovejoy
Pouliot-Chorney
Bench: Spaling, Adams, Scuderi, maybe Farnheim if a forward injured. |

My playoff lines if hoff is healthy:
Downie-Sid-horn
Kuni-malkin-Perron
Bennett-sutter-winnik
Comeau-lap-spaling
Martin-hoff
Lovejoy-pouliot
scuds-cole
Downie with Sid so no more staal cross checks - drummer829
I don't think so
try
Martin scuds
lovejoy cole
chorney/Harrington dumo
if hoof or pouliot were even close they would have played today |

This is the worst possible time for Hank to get a few days off, he was starting to find his game. I think he will be vulnerable at the beginning of this series.
Let's see how he feels if Geno and Cole can rattle a few shots off his face to begin the series.
I love the fact no one is giving us a chance in hell.
Also I want to see these alt jerseys every single home playoff game. |

Yes to the bolded. edit: though the league will probably disallow it as some sort of cap circumvention.
Will be interesting to see the Sid/Staal matchup again. Lundqvist obviously isnt a good matchup with our scoring woes.
random observation, is it just me or is Cole always in a position to get crushed by the opposition? Maybe he's just aggressive/not afraid, but seems people always lay a big hit on him.. He's a big, strong kid though and heplays right through them. |

anyone know how many guys can we bring up from WBS. I know the salary cap doesnt matter, but whats the roster limit? |

Yeah Cole is not afraid to take a hit. He doesn't have the greatest speed but is a lot better with the puck than Bortz. Nice little player to have.
I hope Ehrhoff and Pouliot are ready to go. I believe we'll put up a good fight! |

There isn't any pressure on the team. They can play relaxed. They aren't the favorites and it will be interesting to see the mindset of them when they are in that position.
Big thumbs up to alt jerseys for the home games. I would love that but it won't happen. |

im with you...i just enjoy the conversation. can we hire Shero as a consultant to pull off that trade though?
said that at the very beginning ...Backes is the competent 2nd line center and I would really want Tarasenko back as well. People can harp about how many goals he has but hes not yet at Malkins level. otherwise, you add shwartz/oshie/steen+fabbri/rattie+picks
Jets are another team with some good spread out offensive depth. Little/Ladd/Wheeler/Byfuglein/Lowry...age would be an issue though. For me the idea of trading Malkin means being competitive for the next 8 years, not 3. - YouMeAndDupuis9
I brought up Winnipeg for a reason. They have some interesting pieces. Scheifle (sp?) is a kid I like a lot. Lowry is a big kid that would interest Pittsburgh and of course other pieces. |

Two solid pieces but not something you trade Geno for...trying to think of who to add that would make sense. plus they are both centers. I dont see them trading their 2 and 3 centers...although we could send sutter back too |

I'm betting pouliot will be ready, especially given its the playoffs. Also heard hoff has been improving and he is close as well. They have 5 extra days to rest. I think they are both in |
