Exactly. At the rost i'm sure he will be laughed at for his opinions over the past couple decades. Players don't always turn into scouts. Just because you're good at playing hockey doesn't mean you're good at evaluating talent. - Smittyx36
Most of the scouts are former AHL players or players that made it to the show for a season or two. These are the players that end up being good coaches and good scouts for some reason. |

Last night was the difference between a future Cup for the Sabres and just OK playoff runs.
What a day to be a Sabres fan. |

But thank you BHH for the comedic act once again. You only added to your splended resume by claiming Mike is some sort of hockey guru |

My old man played for Roby in Juniors. Said he knows the game as well as my almost 2 year old daughter. - Stripes77
Respectfully Stripes, that is one persons opinion.
Not one person on this board knows the game of hockey better than Mike although, there are a lot that think they do after watching the game for only 10-15 years. |

It will only get better tonight with beating the pens
Jokes aside it will be in the position the pens have been in the past decade. Its a shame the GMs for the pens kinda stunk at building a team around Crosby and Malkin. You will likely agree that they should have won several cups by now |

I'll have a cornucopia of stuff about just that topic in the offseason.
Use the Penguins as an example of what not to do. Even if you have cap space never overpay for average to below average players (Sutter, Scuderi, Spaling etc..). Pay the premium guys and fill out the rest with competent choices.
I trust Tim Murray to do that job appropriately. I honestly think next year is a playoff year for Buffalo now that they can be aggressive this offseason. McEichel allows that process to start now. |

By knowing the game you mean playing in the NHL?
If that's your basis then yes you are correct.
But let me say this the winningest coach in NHL history never suited up for a single NHL game and he is considered to have one of if not the greatest hockey mind ever |

Not sure who is on these boards but that is a pretty big assumption. Just because you talk about hockey doesn't make you smart. There are a lot of idiots on TV or radio, who may have played, that don't know as much as they would like us to believe. |

Yikes you must see a lot in GMTM. I will be plesnlty surprised if they make the playoffs. But GMTM definitely has a lot of work to do |

There should be a Toews statue and there should be about 10-15 people at every home game with a Cam Atkinson jersey on. |

Mikes word of the game is just his opinion. Just because you have been doing something for 30 some years doesn't mean you were doing it right. Mike is no different than any other ex player on the broadcast team. |

Is that a concrete fact? I mean if you're willing to pay for expert to evaluate me and mike i'd be down. The guy played the game decades ago. His opinions of the past decade have been laughable at times. But yea.... He is smarter and knows more than EVERYONE on these boards. Because you know our backgrounds? |
