Maybe but with half of this squad replaced, how many more games do we win next year with a real NHL Coach? |

Long time between April 11th and October, The team on the ice tonight will look NOTHING like the team that opens the season. The new players will add 10 wins, and having a REAL NHL Coach will add another 5-10 just based upon quality strategy. I say 25-40 additional Pts! Anywhere from 80pts to 95pts. - MEBSabresFAN

We might be like the florida panthers next year that should be the goal I hope..
Then playoffs after that |

I say we finish around 65 points. Maybe, and its a very strong maybe, hit 35 wins.

I am expecting a bad Buffalo team again next year, maybe slightly more competitive but a bad team none the less. Would be a miracle to make the playoffs. - MikeyOz
We will be bad. Top to bottom rebuilds don't happen in just three years. Look at our rebuild.
Realization of rebuild girgensons/gringo (trading goose giving up on core)
Year 1: risto/zadorov
Year 2: reinhart
Year 3 (bottoming out) mceichel
So I'll agree with the consensus and say drafting D help speed everything up and adding kane is a good piece so let's "skip" a year of rebuilding. (A year like Reinhart draft)
We still have a year similiar to a risto like draft to build up (bottom 10) and probably a girgs grigs year after (possible playoffs but fade at end). There is still "building" to be done. We will still not be good for 1-2 more years, unless this is the fastest rebuild in NHL history |

I'd say we look more like last year's Calgary squad, then follow their path from this year the year after that. |

You really don't think we will win 15 more games next year?
Additions: Unknown Off Season Transactions (+4 wins)
Evander Kane , Zemgus (healthy) , McEchel , Reihart, Larson, (+5-10wins)
Ennis (improving) especially with a real centerman
Improved Defense: Risto, Pysk, Bogo, Zads, Rewhedal, Gorges, (+4 wins) |

This will be a super young team next year. No way we coem close to 35 plus wins. They will be excitig to watch though |

So you think with a turnover of at least half the roster and a real NHL Coach we will only manage 3 more wins?
Wow.....ok |

I said a very strong maybe we even hit 35W. Realistically we will be more competetive, but still bad. 70pts tops for next year's squad. |

Don't expect too much. You will set yourself up for disappointment. - Cheeseballin
I expect them to miss the playoffs, but climb out of the bottom 10.
I don't think that's setting myself up for disappointment. I think it's realistic with McEichel. |

That turnover will be with very young players. It's going to take some time. |

Call me crazy, but I have this weird feeling that if we don't get the #1, Murray will trade for it. Whatever it takes. |

Armchair GM as of we know, next year's line-up looks kinda like this.
Kane // McEichel // Gionta
Moulson // Girgensons // Ennis
Larsson // HodgePodge // Foligno
Deslauriers // McCormick // ?????
Bogosian // Georges
Ristolainen // Zadorov
Weber // Ruhwedel
?????//Johnson
We have too many at LW, not enough at RW. Kind of lodged at center as well. Time for GMTM to pull off more moves "even a monkey can do"? Otherwise, This roster really isn't that bad. It's not Chicago great, but it's not Arizona bad. |

I love McEichel but they are not going to bump this team up 10+ spots by themselves. |
